ITS Campus, ITS News – Currently, the government is trying to accelerate herd immunity achievement through the Covid-19 vaccination program. Supporting this, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) again held vaccination for all its academic community at Graha Sepuluh Nopember ITS, starting Saturday (31/7).

To support the vaccination program and commemorate the ITS 61st Anniversary, ITS provides Covid-19 vaccinations for students, employees (lecturers and education staff), ITS alumni, and their families. “This vaccination involves more elements than the ITS vaccination program last March,” said Herdayanto Sulistyo Putro SSi MSi, Coordinator of the ITS Siap Vaksin Team

The vaccination, which is being held for four consecutive days until Tuesday (3/8), was also fully supported by the ITS Alumni Association (IKA), East Java Provincial Government, Airlangga University Hospital (RSUA), and Husada Utama Hospital (RSHU). “ITS provides a total of 6,000 doses of Sinovac vaccine with a daily supply of 1,500 doses,” said the man familiarly called Danang.

IKA ITS representative Ermawan Wibisono who was also present at this vaccination program, said that the involvement of IKA ITS is a form of alumni service to the community, especially in the ITS environment. “Not only ITS residents but the last day’s vaccination will also be intended for the general public around the registered ITS environment,” said the alumnus of the ITS Marine Engineering Department.

Danang continued, the requirements for vaccination participants are that they must be at least 12 years old. They must bring a photocopy of their ID card, informed consent sheet, screening sheet, vaccination memo, and proof of registration in the app called PeduliLindungi. “Vaccination participants can access complete files at the ITS vaccination registration link that has been provided,” added Danang.

Participants will get a queue number for the vaccination flow and then be directed to the file checking counter and fill out the vaccination form. Furthermore, participants did the initial screening, such as checking blood pressure and body temperature before being vaccinated. “The committee provides a specially insulated room for vaccination participants who need it, especially those who wear the hijab,” continued Danang.

The first day of the vaccination was also attended by ITS Rector Prof. Dr. Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng and his family as participants of the first dose of the vaccine. He hopes that this vaccination can immediately form group immunity in ITS and its surroundings. “If the vaccination is evenly distributed, it is hoped that the academic community at ITS can carry out teaching and research activities earlier,” he hoped.

Finally, Danang also expressed his hope that all ITS community and their families can be fully vaccinated. “Everyone must be healthy, everyone must be safe,” concluded this ITS Chemistry Department lecturer hopefully. (ITS Public Relations)
