ITS Campus, ITS News –As one of the best technology campuses in Indonesia, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) always provides the latest technology for the benefit of the Indonesian people. This time, through the Center for the Study of Public, Business, and Industrial Policy (PKKPBI), ITS succeeded in establishing the Appropriate Technology (TTG) and Innovation Corner located behind the Saiful Anwar Regional General Hospital (RSUD), Malang.
Head of ITS PKKPBI, Dr. Ir Arman Hakim Nasution MEng, said the TTG and Innovation Corner aims to accelerate the downstream of TTG through Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) Malang. In addition, he added that the place serves as a forum for developing innovations that the people of Malang will carry out in the future. “ITS should spread their work, especially the provision of their TTG to the community,” he said.
As additional information, TTG is a technology designed by an agency to be used by the community by adjusting environmental, ethical, and other aspects. Not only that, the implementation of TTG has been seen as one of the strategies for optimizing the utilization of all aspects of local resources. “These resources can include humans, nature, technology, to social,” explained the man born in Muna.
Then, Arman stated that the urgency of establishing the TTG Corner was to answer some of the concerns experienced by young entrepreneurs in Malang. These concerns include technology and products that are still classified as conventional, inefficient raw materials, and various other problems. “Therefore, ITS should provide alternative or even better options than before,” he said.
Because of that, ITS has succeeded in donating some of its products and technology to facilitate community activities by producing positive outputs. Starting from prosthetic hands for people in need, plastic skulls to promote the health sector, giving new hybrid corn varieties, and various other TTG.
In the future, the lecturer Business Management Department hopes this TTG Corner can provide added value to improve the community’s welfare. He also hopes that TTG Corner can answer all the concerns that the people of Malang have for now and in the future. “Over time, it will be the turn of the people of Malang to be able to make their contribution to increasing the nation’s competitiveness,” he said optimistically.
