Campus ITS, ITS News – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) continues to advance development in the campus environment for students’ convenience in their activities. This is evidenced by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PT PP Properti Wednesday (23/11) in the Leadership Meeting Room (Rapim) of the ITS Rectorate Building.

Important officials from each agency attended the event. From the ITS party it was participated in by ITS Deputy Chancellor IV for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Alumni ITS Bambang Pramujati ST MScEng Ph.D., Senior Manager of ITS Collaboration Management Dr. Farida Rachmawati, and lecturer representatives from specific departments. Meanwhile, PT PP Properti is led directly by Main Director Yuyus Juarsa and his staff.

On this occasion, Bambang conveyed his impressions and hopes for the memorandum of understanding that had been agreed upon. He hopes that PT PP Properti can become a collaborative partner that is a symbiosis of mutualism for ITS. “It is an honor that ITS can work with PT PP Properti, and I hope this agreement can work as it should,” he said.

Furthermore, the Department of Mechanical Engineering lecturer also revealed that concrete development results with the establishment of cooperation between PT PP Properti and ITS could prove the realization. “As a follow-up to this agreement, I hope the number of dormitories for students can be increased,” said Bambang.

This is done as a follow-up form of infrastructure development and character building for students, especially new students. “The plan is for this additional dormitory to be mandatory for all new students to stay for one year,” said the doctor who graduated from the University of New Brunswick, Canada.

Apart from students, Bambang also hopes that ITS and PT PP Properti will be able to build housing for lecturers. He also explained his desire that the vast land owned by ITS could be used as best as possible by building other facilities such as hotels or malls. “Hopefully, ITS can have housing with a close location and friendly prices,” he said.

Responding to this, Yuyus Juarsa also conveyed his aspirations on behalf of PT PP Properti. He said that the agreement inaugurated today continued the discussions held with ITS Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng IPU AEng, some time ago. “Regarding this, I have discussed it, and we, as representatives of PT PP Properti, are ready to agree,” Yuyus confirmed.

Besides building dormitories and lecturer housing, ITS and PT PP Properti also want to provide a scholarship program and make PT PP Properti a research center for ITS students. That way, PT PP Properti can obtain capable human resources (HR) from ITS so that both of them benefit from each other.

ITS also hopes its collaboration with PT PP Properti can initiate a breakthrough in education by launching a guest lecture program with the ranks of PT PP Properti, who are credible as practitioners. “I represent ITS and hope that this agreed collaboration can provide benefits not only for ITS but also for PT PP Properti,” said Bambang.
