From the results of the national selection, it was recorded that the highest Computer-Based Writing Examination (UTBK) score was received at ITS from the Informatics Engineering Department.
Dr. Eng Unggul Wasiwitono ST MEngSc, the Head of the Admission Subdirectorate of the ITS Education Directorate, explained that this year’s SNBT, unlike previous years, was not exclusively for undergraduate (S1) program applicants. In the 2023/2024 academic year, applicants for the vocational program or applied bachelor’s degree (D4) were also included in the selection process for prospective ITS students.
Recognized as one of the leading Public Technical Higher Education Institutions (PTNs) in Indonesia, ITS claimed the 4th position for its outstanding average UTBK score of 656.70 in the undergraduate program. In the vocational program, ITS secured the 8th rank with an average score of 590.22. Furthermore, the student with the highest national UTBK score was an aspiring new student from the Informatics Engineering Department at ITS, achieving an impressive score of 827.94.
Moreover, a lecturer from the ITS Mechanical Engineering Department disclosed that out of the total 1,947 accepted students at ITS, 1,606 were regular student candidates, while 341 were prospective students from the Indonesia Smart Card – College (KIP-K) program.
Among the various departments at ITS, the Department of Informatics Engineering attracted the highest number of prospective new students, with 81 individuals among 2,577 interested applicants. This was followed by the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Department of Electrical Engineering, which received 72 prospective new students from 864 and 845 interested applicants, respectively. The Department of System and Industrial Engineering also welcomed 61 prospective new students from a pool of 1,045 interested applicants.
Although successful candidates have been officially accepted, Unggul emphasized the importance for all prospective new students to regularly check the its.ac.id/admission page for announcements regarding re-registration schedules and preparation. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in disqualification. “Congratulations on your achievement, and I hope this outcome marks the beginning of a fruitful journey within the vibrant ITS community,” concluded Unggul wholeheartedly.
