Delegates from ITS and Boeing Indonesia after signing the MoU on the sidelines of the Bali International Airshow 2024
ITS Campus, ITS News — Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) continues to collaborate in strengthening reliability in academics and research. One of these efforts was realized through cooperation marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Boeing Indonesia on September 19, 2024.
Director of Global Partnership (DKG) ITS Assoc Prof Maria Anityasari PhD revealed that the collaboration between ITS and Boeing Indonesia was first initiated at the Higher Education Partnership Initiative (HEPI) Forum on July 17. “ITS sees Boeing Indonesia as a potential partner in strengthening relations between the academic world and industry,” explained Maria.
She said that this major step in collaboration is an effort for ITS to strengthen synergy between the academic world and industry in order to support innovation and research. This is realized through the cooperation program offered from the agreement of this memorandum of understanding. “Namely the implementation of guest lectures, scholarships, and industrial internship programs for ITS students,” she added.
In more detail, ITS together with Boeing Indonesia will design the Global Industrial Talk program in conducting guest lecture activities. Maria explained that practitioners from Boeing Indonesia will fill eight series of guest lectures on the aviation industry for one semester. ITS students will explore knowledge about aspects of production, communication, human resources, to testing and direct experience from Boeing Indonesia professionals.
Not only guest lectures, added Maria, this collaboration will also present internship programs and joint research in the field of aerospace sustainability. Through this opportunity, ITS invites its students to explore research opportunities in industries with advanced technology. “Hopefully, ITS can produce students who are ready to compete in the industrial world,” explained the lecturer from the ITS Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering.
Through the signing of the MoU, ITS hopes to be able to collaborate further with Boeing Indonesia, one of which is the establishment of a study program (prodi) in the field of aircraft safety. “Hopefully, this collaboration can support the development of innovation and human resources in the aviation industry in Indonesia,” said Maria optimistically.
