ITS Campus, ITS News — Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) continues to expand collaboration with industry in various sectors. This is evidenced by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with crossing transportation and port services in Indonesia, PT Angkutan Sungai, Danau, dan Penyeberangan (ASDP) Indonesia Ferry (Persero) at the ITS Rectorate Building, Thursday (23/1).
President Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) Heru Widodo said that through the collaboration between ASDP and ITS, which has been established since 2023, many achievements need to be appreciated and continued. These achievements include the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) analysis in improving national safety, new ship design assistance, and the preparation of technical specifications that will enhance transportation infrastructure. “Therefore, we intend to establish cooperation again,” he explained.

This man born in 1981 explained that this collaboration is a form of synergy to advance the maritime sector. He also revealed that several collaborations are to be achieved in the future, including the development of a renewable energy-based maritime industry or green shipping, improving science and technology, developing technical consultations and operational businesses, and internship and scholarship programs in the maritime field.
Meanwhile, ITS Rector Prof Ir Bambang Pramujati ST MScEng PhD explained that cooperation between universities and industry is very helpful in enriching students’ insights into industry needs. In this case, Bambang also supports the collaboration between the ITS Faculty of Marine Technology (FTK) and ASDP, which are both engaged in the maritime sector.

Furthermore, the ITS Mechanical Engineering professor also revealed that ITS is very open to offering various forms of collaboration, such as research in the maritime sector that supports the industry. He also provided a custom curriculum for ASDP parties who wanted to continue their education, especially in dealing with specific problems in the industry.
In the end, this man born in 1969 saw that the signing of this MoU was not just a signature on paper, but various actual collaborations were established. This also aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 and 17 in supporting sustainable development. “Hopefully, there will be many other strong forms of collaboration in the future,” he said optimistically.
