ITS Campus, ITS News – As a university that excels in the field of electronics and robotics, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) collaborates with Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific Pte Ltd. Cooperation with the company’s origin Germany that engaged in the provider of electronic components was inaugurated through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) held in ITS Rectorate building, on Wednesday (26/6).
Prof Dr. Ir Mochamad Ashari M Eng as ITS Chancellor said, Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific Pte Ltd will coordinate with ITS through various cooperation in the field of electronics. “Because their company is engaged in electronics, then Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific Pte LTD wants to cooperate with ITS, especially through the Faculty of Electrical Technology (FTE),” he said.
Ashari also said that this cooperation had actually been initiated since a year ago, but it can be realized through the MoU today.
In this MoU, the form of cooperation between Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific Pte Ltd and ITS is the coordination through research projects that require both lecturers and students at ITS. The example of electronic products produced by this company is the use of semiconductor for an electric vehicle, including also high power electric, microcontroller, wireless control system and so on.
Ashari said, with a variety of products offered through this cooperation, it would greatly facilitate the lecturers and students in developing and completing the research. “Because all this time, students in completing their project must look for these electronic components in a variety of separate electronic stores in Indonesia, with this MoU, it will make it easier for them to fulfill the components to complete their final project,” said the professor of electrical engineering.
Not only that, as it is known, ITS itself has made many achievements in the field of electronics and robotics in the country and abroad. “ITS excels in robotics, Barunastra has just regained its gold medal at the world competition in the United States, and ITS Robot team has also just become a winner in KRI 2019,” said him. He continues, in collaboration with Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific Pte LTD will open wider opportunities for ITS in innovating and contributing achievements for Indonesia in the future.
He also stated, to begin the realization of this cooperation, later Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific Pte LTD will be invited as a keynote speaker at International Seminar on Intelligent Technology and Its Applications (ISITIA) on upcoming August 2019. The ISITIA itself, which held annually, is an international conference organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering ITS. “Apart from Infineon Technologies, we (ITS, red) will also present a keynote speaker from Japan,” he said.
Not only that, but Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific Pte LTD will also hold an electronic exhibition for the Asia Pacific in Singapore. “It is planned that ITS will be provided a place in the exhibition, and this is the opportunity for ITS to show its work abroad,” said Ashari.
Nicholas Tan, as Marketing Manager of Infineon Technologies, said this form of cooperation is also beneficial to broaden knowledge for students in the company’s field of electronic components and electro science on an international scale. “This is one way to introduce students to the business in the electronic field directly,” said the Singaporean man.
