ITS Campus, ITS News – Developments in the field of research and technology will certainly continue to grow rapidly. This is the basis of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya continues to improve the quality of its education by opening an international class starting in 2019. To continuously improve the international scale, ITS agreed to strengthen cooperation in research and technology with the International Center for Chemical and Biological Science (ICCBS) University of Karachi Pakistan. The inaugurated with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), in ITS rectorate building, Monday (22/7).
Director of ICCBS University of Karachi Pakistan Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudary explains that this cooperation can later be research together in both technology and other fields. It is supported by all of ICCBS’s highly qualified laboratory technologies. So that with this cooperation is expected to improve research both on ITS and ICCBS.
Currently, ICCBS has proven to publish more than 8500 articles on a classy journal. Besides, they also already have 300 patents. Prof. Muhammad Iqbal Choudary also said, every year there are also about 200 scientists who come to visit the ICCBS University of Karachi Pakistan from different countries.
Meanwhile, ITS rector Prof Dr. Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng also agreed that it is a good opportunity to improve the research results on both sides. One of its implementations is to invite representatives from the University of Karachi to follow the various programs available at ITS. “We are also welcome to send delegates to it,” he said.
In addition to the research, Ashari admitted that this cooperation can also form a scholarship. The reason is, ICCBS University of Karachi Pakistan itself has been providing many scholarships for a doctoral program (S3) for international students.
“Therefore, ITS emphasis is on all lecturers and Masters students (S2, red) to always fill the S3 scholarship offer. One of them is on this ICCBS, “said the professor of Departement of Electrical Engineering.
Pakistan Ambassador to Indonesia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), HE Abdul Salik Khan who witnessed the direct signing of the MoU also explained, in fact, Indonesia and Pakistan are two countries mutually Brothers tied to the majority of the Muslim population and the historical proximity factor. He conveyed that Pakistan is also the second most country of its society to embrace Islam. So he expects that this cooperation can also further strengthen the relationship between the two countries.
