ITS Campus, ITS News – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) strives to always prepared to face this Covid-19 pandemic. One of them is by forming a special Task Force (Satgas) to handle Covid-19, ITS prepares all essential needs or actions for the campus environment or the community to deal with this pandemic.

As an educational institution, ITS also still has the responsibility of conducting lectures. Since the activities on the campus are suspended, ITS also has been implementing online courses, so students and lecturers do not have to come face to face.

ITS rector Prof. Dr. Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng realized that this online course requires a lot of internet quota. Therefore, ITS via Satgas Covid-19 has also worked together with several telecommunications operators companies to facilitate the internet needs of students by providing 30 Gigabytes (GB) quota to access the campus site.

Also, a total of 1,600 sim cards have been shared by ITS to students who need it. ITS Satgas directly sends the card up to each student’s residence. “So it is expected to be immediately utilized by the students to support their online courses in their home,” “an added rector who familiarly called Ashari.

Previously, the Satgas Covid-19 has also been holding stalls around the campus to cook healthily. Even ITS also coordinates with the students who are still in the dormitory and boarding house. So it is expected to help food stalls to keep their customers and help students in getting healthy foods.

Meanwhile, Ashari states if ITS through the Satgas Covid-19 has produced thousands of self-protective equipment (APD), hand sanitizer, and various facilities to prevent the spread of Covid-19 which has been distributed to the public or the needy party for free.

Interestingly, various products are made by students who can be done in their homes. “In exchange, ITS can match the effort of the students the same with the work of practice if the operating hours are as same as the weight of the college SKS, “Ashari explained.

ITS cooperation with Airlangga University Hospital (RSUA) also managed to create various facilities that can facilitate medical personnel in treating the patients Covid-19. “From the patient’s server, low-cost ventilator, low-pressure isolation chamber, and much more are being applied,” said Ashari.
