ITS Campus, ITS News – Coronavirus pandemic or Covid-19 in most countries in the world, leads to a significant amount of change. Coincided with the National Awakening Day, the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DRPM), Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) held a gathering online by discussing about a Covid-19 pandemic that could be the momentum of awakening towards a new normal era, Wednesday (20/5).
The Serasehan presents eight speakers from the Research and Study Center at ITS. The director of DRPM ITS Agus Muhamad Hatta ST. MSc PhD stated if it is in line with the meaning of the National Awakening Day, where cooperation and synergy with each other are necessary to rise during the trials that hit some society.

The change brought about many new habits by the people in living life. “It’s the right momentum to rise to a new normal era,” said ITS Department of Physics engineering Lecturers.
The lecturer who is familiarly called Hatta is modeled in Indonesian food needs, the momentum is now a great opportunity for local food to be consumed by the community amid the instability of the world economy today. The production of tubers, sago, or other local foodstuffs needs to be developed, the development by the community or the government.
In terms of technology, the learning process has also been done online. It shows developments in the learning system in Indonesia. In the gathering, also discussed the idea of conducting a Community Service Program (KKN) for students online. To implement it, Hatta explained if the support of many parties, such as students, lecturers, community, or others.
