ITS Campus, ITS News – The Sapuangin and Antasena teams of the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) once again are proud award achievers on an international scale. These two treasures of ITS won first and second place in the 2020 Shell Eco-Marathon (SEM) Social Media Competition. Not only that, they also secured the titles of the Most Engaged Account and The Most Creative Content.
In this competition that serves as an introduction for the 2020 SEM Asia participants towards the Communications Award, each team registered their social media accounts which were then assessed by the organizer during the competition period.
“These series of competitions were held due to the Covid-19 pandemic, in order to maintain the team’s morale,” revealed Rafidah Farah Dani, External Relations of the ITS Sapuangin Team.
The competition period runs from the beginning of March to the end of April 2020. Within these two months, participants of the competition are required to upload more than 20 different posts about the ins-and-outs of the team, information on energy saving cars as the team’s product, and other content related to 2020 Shell Eco-Marathon.
Rafidah explained that some of the points assessed in this competition were the following: quality of information on social media content, the style of the social media content, the delivery characteristics of the content, and the feedback obtained after the post was uploaded. From the criteria set by Shell Indonesia, the ITS Sapuangin team was stated champion with the title of Most Engaged Account as a result of their immensely creative content in their Instagram social media account @itsteamsapuangin.
Announced through the 2020 SEM Indonesia online group, on Tuesday (6/16) afternoon, the ITS Sapuangin team succeeded in providing excellent interaction and feedback on their social media accounts. “With a total of social media engagement details reaching 22,758 likes, 232 comments, and 5,129 followers during the assessment period,” Rafidah specified.
For the content uploaded itself, this team that has been established since 2009, posted various interesting content such as Stalk, Quiz, Milestone, and the 10-Years Anniversary of the Sapuangin Program. “The competition, this time, is more specialized for the non-technical team of ITS Sapuangin team. But of course, our victory is inseparable from the cooperation of the whole team,” described Rafidah, gratefully.
Regarding the awards achieved by her team, this student of the ITS Business Management Department revealed that her team felt very grateful and are now more enthusiastic in managing the ITS Sapuangin team’s social media going forward. “We will continue to improve the content to be even better in the future,” she expressed.
Rafidah asserted that the victory of the ITS Sapuangin team as the Most Engaged Account cannot be separated from the contribution of the ITS Sapuangin team stakeholders, such as the alumni, the entire ITS academic community, and the sponsors.
“For those who have supported the Sapuangin team, even in the midst of a pandemic like this, we deeply thank you,” concluded this student from Gresik.
Meanwhile, the runner-up position of the same competition was successfully achieved by the ITS Antasena team with its social media account on Instagram @antasena_its. This team that is famous for its innovation in developing hydrogen-powered cars was also successful in getting the title of the Most Creative Content.
The reason behind this is that the content created by the Antasena team succeeded in conveying a good message to the audience. Their creative content is also attractive and has a variety of interesting information that pulls positive feedback. Based on the presentation of the jury, the title of the Most Creative Content was successfully brought home by the Antasena team.
ITS Antasena team’s non-technical manager, Muhammad Iqbal Al Barsyi, expounded that all team members were involved in this competition. As for the design and conceptualization of the social media content, the ITS Antasena team has been doing that since last September. “For this competition, the Antasena team has a special subdivision that is more focused on the process, namely the Creative Media subdivision,” he revealed.
For them, the award they won this time was an additional gift. “Antasena itself always emphasizes that the main objective of our social media besides branding is to educate, and so the rest are bonuses,” expressed this ITS Chemical Engineering Department student who is familiarly called Iqbal, gratefully.
Responding to their proud achievement, this student from Surabaya affirmed his hope for the future of the ITS Antasena team in order to be able to consistently continue to educate and provide information through a better way of presentation. (rys/ory/ITS Public Relations)
