ITS Campus, ITS News – Department of Systems Engineering and Industry ITS being more serious in supporting the development of the 4.0 industry globally. One of them through the held of event International Conference in Industrial and System Engineering (IConISE) followed by hundreds of international participants and was held in virtually two days, starting Tuesday (22/7).
IConISE 2020 is in collaboration with Diponegoro University (UNDIP), which is through Annual Conference on Industrial and System Engineering (ACISE). The event, known as IConISE ACISE, was also attended by speakers from various countries including Prof. Weijia Jia of Shanghai Jiaotong University, China; Doan Lingga as vice president of Data Traveloka; Assoc Prof Ferry Jie of Edith Cowan University, Australia; As well as several other speakers from Germany and the Philippines.
This event presents several topics about big data analysis discussed with participants. Starting from Smart city planning, the role of data management and analytics in the 4.0 industry, big data on the supply chain, and big data analysis as a competitive tool to smart industrial systems.
The chief organizer of IconISE 2020, Ratna Sari Dwi PhD presented, there are more than 200 participants who have signed up from Indonesia, Malaysia, Italy, Philippines, United Kingdom (UK), and Japan. “After going through the selection phase, selected 149 finalists who will present their research in this conference,” he said.
Furthermore, Ratna explained that IconISE was held to associate and exchange better industrial engineering education. “We are also working to develop research, and information among academics and practitioners from various countries related to industrial engineering,” she explained.
Ratna said, in the last decade, the industry changed to digitalization, therefore big data became one of the main concerns in industrial engineering. “Recognizing the important role of big data analysis, this year’s conference set it as the main topic,” she said.
Meanwhile, the rector of ITS Prof. Dr. Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng in his speech also conveyed, the theme is according to the needs of the industrial development 4.0 and certainly become a focus for the Department of Systems and Industrial engineering itself, “The topic has also been a concern for ITS that is currently focused on the development of digital technology ranging from the big data, education systems, research systems, and more” she said.
The rector who is familiarly called Ashari also greatly appreciated the implementation of this Conference which is considered very important to support the development of the industry towards the 4.0 industry, “I am proud of the Department of Systems and Industry engineering that consistently organizes such conferences,” he said.
In the future, Ashari hopes that conferences related to industrial technology can continue to be carried out and can cooperate with other universities on an international scale. “Hopefully this conference can bring new ideas and research on the development of industrial technology to realize the 4.0 industry,” he concluded.
