ITS Campus, ITS News – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) is believed to be able to take advantage of the opportunities that exist before it, although the middle pandemic occurs today. For example, through the summer program of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Five ITS students got a chance to get closer to the Brazilian state for two weeks from Saturday (18/7).
The annual Program of UFMG which was followed by 60 participants from 25 countries, was held differently from the previous years that is online. But it does not reduce the spirit of the participants to follow each activity. “Above, UFMG is one of the best colleges in Latin America, and the Portuguese classes they offer are quite attractive,” said Rebekah Anintha Miyagi, a student of the Department of Business Management ITS.
Furthermore, on this program, Ribka and friends were treated with a lot of knowledge about the state of Samba, ranging from politics, history, geography, economics, culture, and Portuguese language. Each training lasted two hours with a significant time difference challenge between Brazil and Indonesia. “It was at 02.00 when we had a virtual tour to the Inhotim Museum, and after that, we will also be invited to Pampulha and Movie Club,” explained students who had interned at IT Global, Tokyo, Japan.
According to Dicky Aditiya Kurniawan, a participant of international activities such as this is certainly able to expand his network. With many friends from various countries, the students of the Department of Business Management ITS can also exchange culture with each other. As for the friend, Fadhila Abidah, this opportunity is a great event to practice foreign language communication skills.
In this activity, organizers do not charge a penny, so it is not surprising if the interest is so much. Until the selection made by ITS then gave this valuable opportunity to Ribka, Dicky, dan Dhila, and the other two who are Kirana Alif Fatika from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Grace Elva Averina from the Department of Computer Engineering. After this, they hope that other useful activities like this can always be done in ITS especially in a pandemic situation. (sin/yok/rev)
