Closing The SKM Registration, ITS Still Open Registration For IUP And Vocational Programs

ITS Campus, ITS News – New student registration through the Seleksi Kemitraan dan Mandiri (SKM) in Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has been closed at 16:00, Tuesday (25/8). Recorded at the closing, ITS received a total of 8,943 applicants from this SKM registration.

 

Its Director of Education Dr. Eng Siti Machmudah ST MEng explained, on the registration of SKM and IUP will announce the accepted applicants on August 28th, 2020 with a quota provided as many as 1,980 new students. So in the future, three pathways that have been provided, namely National Selection of State University Entrance (SNMPTN), Joint Admission Selection of State Universities (SBMPTN), and SKM will be completed to get prospective new students.

This lecturer who is familiarly called Machmudah added, in the registration of SKM there are three majors that have the most applicants. Namely the Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering, the Department of Informatics, and the Department of Business Management. “For the total applicants of the Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering is 1,551 applicants, the Department of Informatics has 1,435 applicants, and the Department of Business Management is as many as 1,239 applicants,” she said.

 

Lecturer of Department of Chemical Engineering ITS also stated, in this SKM registration, ITS continues to filter the quality of students through the results of computer-based writing exams (UTBK) or Academic Competency Tests (TKA). So that the prospective new students who can be accepted are the best ones. Because ITS will not drastically lower the standard UTBK or TKA value used for this SKM registration. “ITS maintains its commitment to continue to produce the best graduates and achievements,” she said.

 

Meanwhile, the 2nd round of International Undergraduate Program (IUP) registration is also closed on the same day but will be extended again. This new ITS program is officially started in 2019 and has opened enrollment in two rounds. 1st round opens on 2 – 20 June 2020 and 2nd round is on 3 – 25 August 2020.

 

According to the Head of Sub Directorate of Admission, Directorate of Education ITS, Unggul Wasiwitono ST MEng Sc, to meet the quota of new students of IUP, ITS is planned to open the third round of registration. “So it is expected to be met the target stipulated from IUP registration,” said Unggul.

 

Machmudah added, ITS provides a quota of 25 seats for each major in IUP Class. This year ITS added IUP classes in four departments. In the Department of Physics, the Department of Chemistry, the Department of Mathematics, and the Department of Business Management. So this year in total ITS has opened 20 departments for International Class. “For the total, there are 500 seats available in this registration,” Said Machmudah.

 

Although the SKM and IUP (2nd round) registration have been closed, according to Machmudah, it is not the final registration that prospective students can take to get into ITS. Machmudah said that acceptance from the Vocational School is still open until August 30th, 2020 for prospective students who did not accepted in the previous registration. “For the total number of Vocational applicants inAugust 25, 2020, there are 1,748 applicants,” she said.

 

Furthermore, the Vocational registration itself has opened from August 21, and the students who are accepted will be announced on September 4, 2020. ITS has also received prospective vocational students from the achievements way on June 23 – 24, 2020, with a total of 206 students. “So for the period 21 – 30 August 2020 this is intended for regular and independent Vocational registration,” she explained.

 

Furthermore, if the Vocational registration is closed, all new students accepted at this hero campus will be officially confirmed to be ITS students on September 16, 2020. The course in this odd semester will officially run from September 28, 2020. (bob/rev/ITS Public Relations)
