ITS Campus, ITS News – In an effort to increase the potential of regional development in Indonesia, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) continues to expand its cooperation to a number of regions. This time, ITS signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tulungagung District Government related to the development of education, research, devotion, and development of human resources quality (HR), Thursday (24/9).

ITS Rector Prof Dr Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng who welcomed this cooperation mentioned, there is a lot that ITS can do to improve regional development in Tulungagung Regency. Such as, the procurement of alternative energy in areas far from urban, development of smart city-based urban layouts, and so on.

In the joint agreement that lasted within the five-year period, the rector who is often called Ashari also hopes that cooperation can widen in various fields.

Through its Directorate of Research and Community Service (DRPM), many thematic real work programs (abmas) and Community Service Program (KKN) have been conducted by lecturers and students throughout Indonesia. “Hopefully with this cooperation can bring benefits for both parties,” he said.

Tulungagung Regent Maryoto Birowo also signed the cooperation directly acknowledged, there have been several agencies in the environment that cooperate with ITS. In addition, Maryoto also hopes that the services in Tulungagung Regency can cooperate with ITS nicely Included in the scope of this cooperation, including policy and legal assessment, assessment and application of research and community service, improvement of human resources quality, assessment and application of design and engineering technologies, assessment and application of information, energy and material technology, management development, planning, financial management, and regional assets, and other areas that are deemed necessary to be cooperation.
