Despite winning many awards, ITS still has not succeeded in bringing home the Samakbya Padhesa Widya trophy as the overall champion at the 13th Gemastik. The points obtained by ITS have not been able to surpass the defending champion who this time again became the overall champion, namely, the University of Indonesia, with a total of three gold medals, two silver medals, and one bronze medal.
The success achieved by the ITS contingent this year cannot be separated from the strong cooperation of the contingents. Starting from the finalists to the role of the supervising lecturers and also the Guard Team who always provide direction and evaluation, thus spurring all teams to give the best results. Full support from the ITS bureaucracy also provides positive energy for participants with the ideas and input given. “In terms of quality and technicality, I am sure that the work created by the entire team is mature and superior,” added the lecturer at the Department of Informatics Engineering.
In the future, according to Hadziq, the preparation for the Gemastik competition will be carried out for a long time, so that the results obtained can be maximized. There will be a monitoring system or direct mentoring to cross-assess the work of participants. As well as the implementation of quarantine so that the finalists can focus on the tournament that is being followed.

The role of alumni who have participated in similar competitions will also be intensified, starting from thinking about ideas or concepts at the beginning, making programs and media, to making presentations and demonstrating their work. “Like what we did this year by providing public speaking training to all finalists which were conducted with one of the presenters of Kompas TV, Woro Windrati,” he said.
Hadziq concluded by advising that preparations for next year must be further enhanced and more cooperation from various parties is needed. The longer preparation time and the implementation of finalist quarantine also allow for internal selection so that superior works from students can be selected. “Hopefully ITS will be able to succeed in becoming the General Champion in the 14th Gemastik in 2021,” concluded the lecturer who also has expertise in human-computer interaction and virtual reality (VR).
