Kampus ITS, ITS News – The era of industrial revolution 4.0 and digital transformation has encouraged the development of technology regarding public information disclosure at this time. Thanks to the hard work and commitment, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) won the Informative predicate in the 2020 Public Information Openness Award by the Central Information Commission (KPI). The results were announced online given by the Vice President, Prof. Dr. (HC) KH Ma’ruf Amin, Wednesday (25/11) afternoon.

Head of ITS Public Communication Unit (UKP), Anggra Ayu Rucitra ST MMT, explained if this has become clear evidence of ITS commitment to encouraging public information disclosure by continuing to present correct, open, and transparent information. “So that people can get or ask about information related to ITS at any time,” said the lecturer at the ITS Interior Design Department.

According to Anggra, this is also an obligation for ITS as a Legal Entity State University (PTN-BH) in carrying out the mandate of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia No.14 of 2008 concerning Public Information Openness.

In achieving the highest predicate, Anggra continued countless hard work with all ITS academicians to realize various innovations related to public information disclosure. First, by establishing an information and documentation management organization within ITS. Then, provide a Unified Service Center where viewers can obtain all information offline.

Furthermore, online services are also carried out by migrating the Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID) website to the www.its.ac.id/ppid page with a more dynamic display and complete information.

The e-ppid application available on Playstore can also provide users with information only through a cell phone. “To get information quickly, we also form contact points in work units within ITS,” said this sweet-faced woman.

ITS also succeeded in integrating all information that others can access through social media such as Instagram, line, YouTube, and the website. Even during the Covid-19 pandemic, all information related to Covid-19 innovation and education was provided. “There is also a hotline and official website for the Covid-19 special website,” she said.

This is all also in line with ITS current vision, which is to become a world-class university that contributes to the nation’s independence and becomes a reference in education, research and community service, and the development of innovation, especially those that support industry and marine.

This achievement, said Anggra, is undoubtedly something ITS is so proud of. The reason is, ITS only occupied the title of Enough Informative last year. Now ITS has succeeded in occupying Informative’s title or moving up two levels at once by jumping directly to the title Towards Informative.

There are currently only nine state universities throughout Indonesia that have managed to get the title and ITS is included in it. Finally, Anggra hopes that ITS can maintain this title by continuing to provide useful innovations in the future. “This is because maintaining is much more difficult than achieving,” she reminded.

Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, who handed over the award in person, virtually said that this award is a form of appreciation from the government to every public body, including universities that have succeeded in realizing satisfactory general information disclosure.

Currently, the Government of Indonesia itself prioritizes openness and public transformation to run a government called open government. “So that the public can play an active role in the process of making public policies,” she said

The former chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) also said that this would undoubtedly close the possibility of false information disturbing the public. Among them are misinformation, intentional misinformation (disinformation), and misinformation to bring down a particular party (mal-information). (sof/ory/ITS Public Relations)
