ITS Campus, ITS News – Seeing the increasing transmission of Covid-19 in the community, including among the academic community itself, the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has officially re-imposed a ban on campus entry and stopped all activities in the campus environment (lockdown). The restrictions cover all academic and public facilities on campus, determined based on the leadership agreement on December 24, 2020, and will last for 17 days, starting from December 25, 2020, to January 10, 2021.

It was emphasized by the Head of ITS Public Communication Unit Anggra Ayu Rucitra, ST. M.MT, if in fact, the ITS Covid-19 Handling Preparedness Technical Unit (Satgas) had provided recommendations and was approved by ITS leadership to impose a ban on entering the ITS campus starting December 24, 2020.

This is because the number of cases of Covid-19 transmission is increasing in the community, including the ITS academics who are increasingly infected. Finally, ITS Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ir. Mochamad Ashari, M.Eng, was only detected to be exposed to the Covid-19 virus on Friday (25/12), a day after the lockdown was decided.

“This prohibition applies to all lecturers, education staff (tendik), students, partners, and the general public. Except for Health Workers, Campus Security Units (SKK), Covid-19 Task Force, Infrastructure (Sarpras) personnel who are on duty, and residents in the ITS Housing complex are still permitted,” said Anggra.

All lecturers and staff are expected to stay at home and work from Home (WFH) on weekdays. Besides, they are also prohibited from traveling outside the city, either for official or personal interests. If a violation is found, then employee disciplinary sanctions may be imposed by the prevailing laws and regulations.

Soon, according to Anggra, the ITS Infrastructure Bureau, together with the ITS Covid-19 Task Force, will immediately carry out sterilization by spraying disinfectants throughout the ITS area. Anggra advised all ITS community members who are sick, knowing that someone is sick, and wanting to know the steps and prevention of Covid-19, can contact the ITS Covid-19 Task Force Hotline 08113010103.

The ITS extended family is expected to remain disciplined in implementing health protocols strictly and seriously, maintaining family health, avoiding gatherings or crowds that have the potential for Covid-19 transmission. “Hopefully, everyone is in good health, always remember to maintain health protocols and maintain body immunity,” she concluded.
