ITS Campus, ITS News – The period of service of the Majelis Wali Amanat (MWA) of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has entered a new phase in the management of 2021 – 2026. Based on the results of the MWA kick-off meeting which was held virtually, Friday (5/2 ) night, finally Prof. Dr. Ir Muhammad Nuh DEA was re-elected as the chairman of ITS MWA for the period of 2021-2026.
The first meeting for the new members of the MWA was held after the pisah kenal event from the before members of the ITS MWA for the 2016-2021 period virtually on the same day. The new members of the MWA have been determined in advance through the Plenary Meeting of member elections for the period 2021 – 2026, which they held hybrid (offline and online) on last 19 December 2020
ITS Rector Prof. Dr. Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng at the farewell event expressed his gratitude to the members of the MWA for the 2016-2021 period who have completed their work period. The Rector, who is familiarly called Ashari, assessed that the members’ dedication was extraordinary because that period was the first MWA stewardship when ITS became a State-Owned Legal University (PTN-BH).
“So that all related matters are still fresh and need improvement, but the members’ performance (MWA) is extraordinary. We, on behalf of ITS, convey our highest appreciation to all the ladies and gentlemen, “said the ITS Professor of Electrical Engineering.
With the election of the new members for the 2021-2026 period, Ashari expressed his welcome to the new members who will be on duty. He explained that ITS has three crucial organs, namely the MWA, the Academic Senate (SA), and the Rector. “Hopefully, we can work together like yesterday’s management organ, which has brought ITS to extraordinary progress,” he hoped.
Representing the senior member of the ITS MWA, Prof. Dr. Drs Darminto MSc revealed that the ITS MWA at that time had collected all the notes that ITS MWA could use to be an introductory preview of ITS development for the next five years. “This experience is a cooperation and intimacy that is so warm because it is supported by the excellent communication between the three organs,” said the Executive Secretary of the ITS MWA for the 2016-2021 period.
Prof. Dr. Ir Muhammad Nuh DEA’s election as chairman of ITS MWA in the 2021-2026 service period is the second time. The professor of ITS Biomedical Engineering, who is usually called Nuh, said that ITS MWA members’ togetherness in the previous period was extraordinary. “Therefore, in the future, I think this togetherness will become our specialty. With togetherness, we can solve complex problems well, ”said the former Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud).
Accompanying Nuh in leading the ITS MWA, the board also agreed to appoint Dr. Ir Dwi Soetjipto as the Vice-Chairman of ITS MWA for 2021 – 2026. Dr. Ir Dwi Soetjipto is an alumnus of ITS Chemical Engineering who currently serves as Head of the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas).
On the evening that became the agenda for gathering the ITS MWA members, other members of the ITS MWA for the period 2021 – 2026 were also present. One of them is Budi Gunadi Sadikin, who is currently trusted as the Republic of Indonesia’s Minister of Health. “I entered the ITS MWA to help Pak Nuh, and this task is related to my passion from a long time ago, namely teaching,” said the Minister of Health, who was also present virtually.
The alumnus of Nuclear Physics at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) revealed that he had received knowledge from the Chairman of the ITS MWA about education. “His message (Prof. Muhammad Nuh, red) is that this thing called education, the levels are different. Starting from the physical level, mind, heart, and the heaviest level is the soul level.
