ITS Campus, ITS News – To support the development and development of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) campus to world-class universities, the management of the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Marine Technology ITS (Alfatekelits) in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) made donations intended as ITS Endowment Fund. The event held during the handover event was held online, Friday (12/3) night.
The event attended by the board of Alfatekelits, ITS Alumni Association (IKA ITS), and ITS officials both in the Rectorate and the Faculty of Marine Technology (FTK). This handover event is the closing session of the event’s 2nd Alfatekelits Golf Tournament (AGT 2021), held starting February 28.
Chairman of Alfatekelits Jabodetabek area, Gigih Retnowati ST. MT., In her speech, said that donation funds come from the balance of AGT 2021 activities raised from participant funds and sponsorship funds. Furthermore, Gigih explained, AGT events will be held annually. The results of these activities are dedicated to ITS Endowment Fund.
In the donation submission report presented by the AGT 2021 participant representative, Moko Priambodo, it was explained that the number of funds raised in AGT 2021 activities amounted to Rp 585 million. Reduced by expenses during the event, the final balance of Rp 29.7 million was obtained. “This fund will be hand over as ITS Endowment Fund,” he explained.
Also present at the event was ITS Rector Prof. Dr. Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng. In his speech, Ashari said, since the Endowment Fund was formed in 2017, ITS has raised a perpetual fund of Rp 6.2 billion. He targets that by 2025 its Perpetual Fund will be collected as much as Rp 50 billion and by 2030 will increase 400-fold to Rp 20 trillion.
As the name implies, ITS Endowment Fund is an endowment fund and is managed specifically. The results used to support campus activity, without reducing the principal value of funds. “The funds will invest into the business. And the investment profits will be utilized,” he continued.
Relate to utilization, Ashari revealed that the perpetual fund aims to help students who are deficient, generate research and entrepreneurial of students. “The goal is for ITS students to compete globally,” he said.
Continuing Ashari’s explanation, ITS Vice Rector IV Bambang Pramujati ST MSc Eng Ph.D. explained, Now, the perpetual funds prioritized using for its student scholarship program. “Scholarship intended for families from its academic community who have returned home because of the Covid-19 pandemic,” he added.
Ending the event, Gigih hopes, this donation submission activity by Alfatekelits can be a trigger for other department alumni to carry out similar activities in order to help ITS Perpetual Fund. “We believe ITS will be a world-class college.
