ITS Campus, ITS News – The big family of the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) again held Halal Bihalal as a form of friendship as well as self-evaluation of the meaning of Eid. The event, which was attended by ITS lecturers and education staff (tendik), also invited Prof. Dr. Nasaruddin Umar MA, Grand Imam of the Jakarta Istiqlal Mosque as a tausiyah provider in an online event, Monday (17/5).
The Halal Bihalal, entitled Knitting Togetherness, Spreading Benefits in the National Frame, was attended by approximately 800 people who were held using the Zoom Meeting application and broadcast live (live streaming) through ITS’s youtube channel. Even though it was held online, this event was still held solemnly.
In addition to being attended by ITS Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ir Mochamad Ashari M Eng, several former ITS Chancellors also joined the event, including Ir Harjono Sigit BS, Prof Ir Soegiono, Prof Dr. Ir Mohammad Nuh DEA, Prof Ir Priyo Suprobo MS Ph.D., Prof Dr. Ir Triyogi Yuwono DEA, and Prof. Ir Joni Hermana MSc ES Ph.D. Also present were the administrators of the ITS Board of Trustees (MWA), ITS Academic Senate (SA), ITS Council of Professors (DP), managers of the ITS Manarul Ilmi Mosque Takmir, Chair of the ITS Student Parents Association (IKOMA), Chair of the ITS Alumni Association (IKA), as well as representatives of ITS partner banks such as Bank BNI, Bank Mandiri, Bank BRI, Bank BTN, and Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI).
At the beginning of the meeting, the ITS Chancellor opened the event by giving a speech and apologizing to the entire ITS big family. In addition, the hope is related to the Covid-19 pandemic so that health is always abundant for the whole of the ITS big family until the time this pandemic ends. “Hopefully, Allah will give us health, and we can meet with the next Ramadan,” said the rector, who is familiarly called Ashari.
Ashari also expressed his gratitude because the ITS Manarul Ilmi Mosque has succeeded in carrying out Ramadan activities on Campus (RDK) 42 with a hybrid process (online and offline) after following all health protocol directions and MUI directives to maintain the safety of the people from the spread of Covid-19. “Hopefully, later, this hybrid process can be developed into the learning process on the ITS campus to support offline learning,” added the professor of Electrical Engineering, who was born in 1965.
This year, Ashari also discussed the students who memorized the Koran at ITS. It was explained that ITS already has 15 students who learned the Koran, and this year ITS is committed to adding hafiz by recruiting new prospective students. “All of this is aimed at prospective new students who have hafiz talents so that later they will not only know technology but also tahfiz and tartil,” he thought.
In addition, the RDK 42 activity report was also presented by the Chairman of the ITS Islamic Spiritual Development Team. Activities that were successfully carried out were in the form of the Fajr Ba’da Study and Tarawih Study by ITS lecturers and religious experts, the Grand Study in Nuzulul Quran, various Islamic competitions, to the distribution of zakat, infaq, and sadaqah as well as the holding of 61 times Quran completion which was carried out in the framework of the 61st ITS Anniversary. “In the last ten days of Ramadan, Itikaf was held with a peak of 300 people,” he concluded.
The event was continued by religious tausiyah by Prof. Dr. Nasaruddin Umar MA as the Grand Imam of the Jakarta Istiqlal Mosque, who conveyed the nature of friendship, gender balance (masculine and feminine) in carrying out the human caliphate in the perspective of Islam and the Koran. Many people interpret the Qur’an without understanding the hadith and books of previous scholars.
Before going any further, Nasaruddin explained that the essence of friendship is to spread kindness and enlightenment after one has inner power, where this inner power is obtained during the whole month of fasting. “Imagine when you spread positive energy with a smile and attract sustenance from this friendship,” he explained.
According to him, celebrating Eid al-Fitr also has a meaning to widen and expand the heart. Asking and forgiving is increasing the cleanliness of the soul whose energy is unbeatable. “The more sincere you are, the more positive energy will flow in your body,” said the man from Bone.
Looking at the gender balance in the relationship, he revealed the argument that reads, “Don’t throw dirt in stagnant water, don’t throw dirt in running water.” It is intended not to be too masculine in running the caliphate, which will result in shortening the life of the earth. This is almost the same as explained in all religions, but only the way it is conveyed is different.
This gathering can be used as a benchmark for human faith in fear of Allah or used as a momentum for repentance. In Islam, it should invite Muslims to strengthen the ties of brotherhood, both among people (Ukhuwwah Islamiyah) to brotherhood among human beings (Ukhuwwah Insaniyah). “There is no longer any barrier that separates this relationship. Make this Eid al-Fitr a place to knit togetherness and benefit together,” he said, ending the tausiyah at the ITS Halal Bihalal event. (far/ITS Public Relation)
