ITS Campus, ITS News – As a campus that supports the development of industrial technology 4.0, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) continues to enhance cooperation with other universities in Indonesia. This time, Cooperation with Trisakti University (Usakti) Jakarta was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) online, Thursday (8/7).
The MoU was signed directly by ITS Rector Prof Dr. Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng and Usakti Rector Prof Dr. Ir Kadarsah Suryadi DEA. Also accompanying the MoU signing ceremony are its leadership and several other ITS lecturers. The signing of this memorandum of understanding is the first step of ITS with Usakti to cooperate with innovation development, patent research, and intercampus activities.
In his speech, ITS Rector said, this cooperation is a tremendous opportunity for both parties to improve the development and reputation of agencies in the field of industrial technology development 4.0. “As a first step, we need to cooperate with other universities, not only State Universities (PTN), but also with Private Universities (PTS),” said the rector who is familiarly called Ashari.
Professor of Electrical Engineering ITS said, The MoU initiated by the dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning (FTSP) Usakti is highly appreciated and what is expected is the implementation of the MoU itself. “Don’t let this MoU be just a signature on paper without any further implementation,” he warned.
Ashari also gave appreciation to his ranks and lecturers who have successfully collaborated with lecturers from other universities. So it is not only working with lecturers around ITS agencies only.
On the other hand, Rector Usakti in his speech said that there have been many activities carried out between the two agencies so that the MoU is signed wholeheartedly and very confident because some activities are already running. “I think we all have the same vision which is to produce students to become useful graduates, especially in the development of industrial technology 4.0,” said the former rector of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB).
At least, continued Kadarsah, graduates who will be produced later are professionals who fill jobs and entrepreneurs who create jobs. This is by the objectives of both agencies, namely equally towards entrepreneur university. Through this MoU, the two agencies will always strive together to improve the quality of students so that they can fill jobs.
At the end of the event, Ashari also hoped that this collaboration could produce activities with an educational background which is synergy, speed, and creativity between domestic education and the development of industrial technology 4.0. Therefore, it is also expected that an international education curriculum will be formed that will produce more qualified and reliable human resources (HR), to realize the mission-vision of both agencies.
