Kampus ITS, ITS News – The Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November (ITS) again held a vaccination which this time was the second dose of Sinovac for two days, starting Monday (30/8). On the first day, Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi ST MT also visited and directly observed the second dose of vaccination held at Graha Ten November ITS.
Eri, who was greeted directly by ITS Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng and other ITS leadership ranks, now reviewed the vaccination process from the filing stage to the vaccine injection. As with the first dose, the second dose of vaccination is also intended for students, employees (lecturers and education staff) and their families, ITS alumni and their families, and the community around the ITS campus.
In his speech, Eri Cahyadi expressed his appreciation to ITS together with the ITS Alumni Association (IKA), Airlangga University Hospital (RSUA), and Husada Utama Hospital (RSHU), who also supported the government’s vaccination program. “This is a form of cooperation as residents of Surabaya to fight the Covid-19 pandemic, and hopefully, this can be an example for other agencies,” he said.
Also, on this occasion, the mayor, an ITS alumnus, took the time to interact and joke with elderly vaccine participants (elderly) who are 80 years old and several other vaccine participants who are currently in the screening stage. “We, the Surabaya City Government, are ready to help bridge the gap between ITS and the Provincial Government (East Java) in helping to provide vaccinations if you need additional doses,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the ITS Chancellor, who was also present as a participant in the second dose of vaccine, also expressed his gratitude to the Surabaya City Government (Pemkot) for its support in providing health workers with the double amount of vaccination program at ITS can be implemented. “In the second dose of the vaccination program, which was held for two days, our target is 3,000 doses per day,” he said.
Finally, the rector, who is familiarly called Ashari, hoped that, after completing this second dose of the vaccination program, which means that all lecturers, education staff, and students had been vaccinated, ITS would be more prepared to carry out face-to-face lectures.
This second dose of the vaccination program continues the first dose of vaccination which has distributed 6,000 doses of vaccine from 31 July to 3 August. Just like the first dose of vaccination, vaccination participants are required to bring a photocopy of their KTP or KK for children, bring informed consent, bring a ballpoint pen, and also bring additional documents in the form of printed proof of the first vaccination carried out at ITS.
