i-Car Also Delivers ITS Graduates at the Drive-Thru Graduation

ITS Campus, ITS News –The 124th Graduation Ceremony of the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Sunday (3/10). Which took place in the courtyard of the ITS Rectorate Building, was marked by the presence of the i-Car. This Smart Car by ITS is an environmentally friendly vehicle powered by electricity and without a crew, which also led some graduates in the drive-thru graduation procession.

One of them was Dr. Rudi Dikairono ST MT who drove an i-Car with his wife and son on the way to the certificate handover procession. Rudi is a graduate of the doctoral program from the study program Electrical Engineering, who is also a member of the research and innovation team that developed the i-Car.

In addition to the i-Car, as was the case in the drive-thru graduation procession on the first day, on the second day, ITS’s GESITS electric motorcycle, which has been downstream for mass production, also brought several graduates. Several parents who previously came by driving their private vehicles tried to ride this environmentally friendly motorcycle to join the drive-thru graduation procession.

In his remarks, ITS Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng said that the second day of the graduation ceremony was attended by 924 graduates from doctoral (S3), master (S2), and undergraduate (S1) study programs. “The graduates come from two different faculties, namely Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (FTEIC) as well as Faculty of Science and Data Analytics (FSAD),” he said.

Furthermore, there are 468 FTEIC students with details, 16 from doctoral study programs (S3), 76 from master study programs (S2), and 376 from undergraduate study programs (S1). It was also noted that 159 of them graduated with a very satisfactory predicate (cum laude). Meanwhile, FSAD graduated 456 students from doctoral, master, and undergraduate study programs. Among them, 138 people have achieved cum laude.

Not just graduating, this graduation is also a special moment for the best students on the second day with their achievements. Among them are the best doctoral graduates (GPA 4) by eight combined FTEIC and FSAD students. The best master’s degree graduate by Hendri Prabowo from Statistics Department (GPA 4) and Maulidia Rahmawati from Biology Department (GPA 4), as well as the best graduate, Jennifer Patricia Statistics Department (GPA 3.95) who is also the best undergraduate graduate at the 124th ITS Graduation.

On the other hand, the Chancellor who is familiarly called Ashari also gave awards to the oldest and youngest graduates on the second day of the event. Each of them is Aryo Nugroho with the age of 51 years 3 months who is a graduate of the FSAD Physics study program and Fadia Afif who is also from the FSAD Physics undergraduate study program with the age of 20 years.

Entering the end of the event, Ashari advised that ITS alumni have a big role needed in developing Indonesia and hope that they will not stop learning. “This graduation is not the final step of your goal (ITS graduates), but rather the beginning of life to be able to contribute to society and the nation,” he concluded enthusiastically.
