ITS News, ITS Campus – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has once again produced highly qualified graduates who will serve as the nation’s future leaders. Jennifer Patricia is one of them, graduated with an almost perfect Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.95, earning her the title of the Best Bachelor Graduate at the 124th ITS Graduation.
Jennifer graduated from the Statistics Department, Faculty of Science and Data Analytics (FSAD) in four years. She took part in the graduation procession on the second day, Sunday (3/10). Sharing her journey while studying at ITS, she admitted that graduating with a high GPA had always been her goal.
The main emphasis she instilled was in the academic field during her studies. For her, students need to try their best to have no regrets in the future. “If the results are not as expected, there will be no regrets because we did not maximize the efforts,” Jennifer, who attended the online graduation procession, said.
Jennifer was involved in various professional circles during college, applying her newly acquired knowledge. Some of her previous experiences include working as an assistant lecturer in the Actuarial Department’s Computing Laboratory from 2018 to 2019, interning in the Grab Indonesia operation field in 2019, interning in the Grab Indonesia special project in 2020, and working as an Associate Product Manager Pinhome from 2020 to the present.
In her third year, she was awarded the Canada-ASEAN Scholarship and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED). It enabled her to spend a semester as an exchange student in Canada. “I was extremely fortunate because it was the first time ITS conducted an exchange with Canada, and I was a part of it,” she explained.
Moreover, she was also one of the 2020-2021 Bank Indonesia Excellence Scholarship recipients. This award is gratitude for her efforts to always give her best performance during the learning process.
To keep growing, she has also joined the Petrolida and ITS EXPO committees in 2019. She is also a member of the Association Internationale des Students en Sciences Economiques et Commerciales (AIESEC) Surabaya and the Catholic Student Family (KMK). “Joining an organization, especially one with a broad scope, allows us to strengthen the relationships we already have,” she explained.
This Surabaya-born graduate also shared her tips in achieving a 3,95 GPA. Her tips are, while in class, always pay attention to the lecturer’s explanation and ask the lecturer for clarification on any unclear material. “Always take the time to learn more and do your best on your tasks,” she advised.
Several ups and downs have undoubtedly shaped her into the person she is today. She was able to get through it with the support of her family and closest friends. “Set a goal, know what you want to achieve, and do your best to achieve that goal,” she said while giving advice.
