ITS Campus, ITS News –Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) continues to increase collaboration with other universities in Indonesia, including the eastern region. This time, ITS again extended its cooperation agreement with Musamus University (Unmus), Merauke, located in the Senate Meeting Room of the ITS Rectorate Building, Monday (25/10).
ITS Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Mochamad Ashari MEng together with Unmus Chancellor Dr. Drs. Beatus Tambaib M.A, directly signed a memorandum of understanding or Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This time it is related to the expansion of cooperation in the plan to integrate technology-based education.
This meeting discussed the extension of collaboration related to the sustainability of educational technology development at Unmus, especially on technology empowerment by integrating academic information through the Internet of Things (IoT). “The technology that will be emphasized leads to the creation of educational applications,” said the ITS Chancellor, who is familiarly called Ashari.
As a university that is believed to be the big umbrella of technology in equal distribution of education in eastern Indonesia, ITS always has a hand in supporting the need for technology-based education and research cooperation. Ashari added, “Moreover, all educational information that supports student lectures at ITS has been directly integrated through various features in the My ITS application.”
This Professor of Electrical Engineering said that this MoU was a continuation of the previous agreement related to research development at Unmus and ITS. Ashari appreciates this sustainability because ITS has succeeded in collaborating and has always been trusted by other universities when it comes to integrated technology. “So this proves that ITS does not only work together around internal agencies,” he said.
On the other hand, the Rector of Unmus, in his speech, expressed his agreement with the delivery of the collaboration by ITS Rector. He mentioned that there had been several activities carried out between the two agencies. So this MoU was signed wholeheartedly and very confidently because several previous activities had already taken place. “I want to make Unmus a campus that supports students in accessing education through integrated applications,” said Beatus
At least, continued Beatus, the students on campus are students with high technology education, and various information about campus can be accessed conveniently and easily anywhere. Therefore, through this MoU, the two agencies will continue to work together to improve their respective campuses with the latest technology.
At the end of the event, the alumnus of the University of Cendrawasih (Uncen) hoped that this technology-based collaboration with ITS could become a new synergy for Unmus in the future. So it is also hoped that the signing of this MoU is a joint effort to cooperate more widely and bring benefits to both sides of the campus. (ITS Public Relation)
