ITS Campus, ITS News – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) once again shows its existence in the field of electric vehicles. This time, ITS launched the latest electric-powered formula racing car made by the Anargya team named Anargya EV Mark 2.0. This car was inaugurated directly by Vice-Rector I Prof. Dr. Ir Adi Soeprijanto MT at Graha Sepuluh Nopember ITS, Friday (12/11).
One of the ITS teams that concentrate on the electric formula car sector previously launched the Anargya EV Mark 1.0 in 2019. At the grand launching event this time, the ITS Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs appreciated the work of these students. “Hopefully, this technology will not only focus on the competition but can develop into a start-up company,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Talent Development Section of the ITS Student Affairs Directorate, Hakun Wirawasista Aparamarta ST MMT Ph.D. who was also present, gave his speech. He revealed that this electric vehicle is the answer to future technological challenges. “The spirit of these students must be maintained to bring about better changes for this nation,” said Hakun encouragingly.
The car was created by the team under Pusat Unggulan Iptek Sistem dan Kontrol Otomotif (PUI-SKO) ITS. This is prepared to take part in the competition Formula Society of Automotive Engineers (FSAE) Japanin September 2022. “Thank you to all those who supported us both in terms of funds and physical assistance,” said ITS Anargya team coach Alief Wikarta ST MSc Eng Ph.D.
It was conveyed directly by the driver and mechanical manager of the ITS Anargya team, Kevin Denio Setiawan, that there were several developments from the previous car. Changes include the existence of a tubular frame with better reliability, optimization of the motor and battery efficiency, as well as optimization of the body and wings for more optimal car aerodynamics. “This development allows the car to go up to 105 kilometers per hour with a battery life of up to two hours of operation,” he said.
Kevin continued that the Anargya EV Mark 2.0 also has more stable handling and suspension than the previous car. The level of comfort or ergonomics of the car has been better designed. “The car is designed to be longer so that it can be driven by a driver with a height above 185 cm,” said the student ITS Industrial Mechanical Engineering Department.
On the same occasion, Adi Soeprijanto briefly circled the Graha Sepuluh Nopember ITS page by driving the Anargya Formula EV Mark 2.0 car directly. Adi expressed his happiness and pride to Anargya ITS who had been working hard to make this car since last February. “Keep working to make ITS and Indonesia proud,” he said after driving this formula car.
Finally, the General Manager of Anargya ITS, Alifiansyah Yoga Pramono, hopes that the car created by his team will be able to contribute to the progress of the nation and bring home achievements from the FSAE Japan 2022 event. “Hopefully the technologies we develop can motivate other young people to continue working,” he concluded.
