ITS Rector  Prof. Dr. Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng said that the conducted discussion extends ITS collaboration with Panasonic. The Rector, familiarly called Ashari, explained that four clusters at ITS could work with Panasonic. Such as Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Robotics cluster, Maritime cluster, Automotive cluster, and Creative Design cluster. “Therefore, this discussion activity is carried out so that collaboration can occur between the ITS clusters and Panasonic,” he said.

In response to this, the Vice President Director of PT Panasonic Gobel Life Solutions Manufacture Indonesia Heru Santoso also said that ITS always prioritizes its development, especially in innovation and research. “We want to see what forms of cooperation can be done with ITS in the future,” said Heru.

Meanwhile, the Director of Research and Community Service (DRPM) ITS, Agus Muhammad Hatta ST MSi PhD explained that there are still many ship accessories in Indonesia imported from abroad. Therefore, he hopes that Panasonic can cooperate with ITS to create its ship accessories. “This is to reduce the import activity,” he said.

Hatta also explained that ITS students had researched insect repellent lamps. Therefore, he also expects assistance from Panasonic to develop the tool to be ready for industrial production. “We just need to determine what color can repel these pests,” said a lecturer at the Engineering Physics Department.

At the end of the discussion session, Ashari hoped that ITS could do an internship at Panasonic to realize the Independent Learning program launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) RI. In addition, this professor of Electrical Engineering also hopes that all research and technology development can be assisted and accompanied by Panasonic. “Hopefully, this cooperation can be realized and continue to be well established,” concluded Ashari optimistically.
