ITS Campus, ITS News – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) continues the determination to improve people’s welfare by advancing technology in various fields. ITS implements this by collaborating with the industrial sector by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ITS and partners engaged in the petrochemical industry, namely PT Petrokimia Gresik , PT Petrokimia Kayaku, and PT Petrosida Gresik, Monday (6/12) afternoon.
ITS Rector Prof. Dr. Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng, in his speech explained, ITS has aspirations to advance technology for mutual prosperity based on the motto of advancing humanity. “We don’t want to only advance welfare through engineering and science, but also health and various other fields,” he said.

Meanwhile, ITS Vice Rector IV Bambang Pramujati ST MSc Eng PhD revealed that this collaboration between ITS and petrochemical partners includes several things related to innovation and human resources. Later, the research team from ITS will produce products that will answer problems that arise in the community through assistance from the government and downstream from these petrochemical partners.

Director of Research and Community Service (DRPM) ITS Agus Muhamad Hatta ST MSi PhD stated his readiness to help petrochemical partners face the industrial revolution 4.0 through research and development in the field of artificial intelligence. In addition, Agus also emphasized that he is ready to assist partners in developing green energy or renewable energy.
As for the field of human resource development (HR), ITS will open opportunities for staff and employees from these petrochemical partners to continue their studies at ITS. Through the Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh (PJJ) or distance learning program and a flexible curriculum with partners’ needs.

Through the distance learning program, they hope to produce graduates who excel in managing various problems in the industry. With this collaboration, industry staff and employees can continue their master’s program education at ITS in between their obligations at work.
On the same occasion, Director of PT Petrokimia Gresik Ir Dwi Satriyo Annurogo MT hopes that later ITS can develop and create innovations, especially in renewable and environmentally friendly energy. In addition, Dwi also expressed his desire to advance Indonesia jointly. “We need all the assistance to help advance Indonesia in becoming an independent and strong nation,” he said.
