ITS Campus, ITS News – The Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November (ITS) is serious about showing its commitment to realizing the corruption-free Regional Integrity Zone (ZI-WBK). This is evidenced by the release of the Whistleblowing System (WBS) internalization, held on the last day of the 2022 ITS Leadership Meeting, Sunday (9/1).

All ITS academics and stakeholders can report acts with indications of violations within ITS anonymously through this system. Previously, this ZI-WBK had been implemented first in the ITS Faculty of Science and Data Analytics (FSAD) before finally being applied to all ITS.

In his presentation, the Dean of FSAD ITS, Prof. Hamzah Fansuri MSi Ph.D., said that WBS is an instrument of openness and control by the community. With this WBS, campuses can improve the quality of services and supervision of leaders, lecturers, and education staff (tendik). “Because the reporter in this system is open to anyone, the community can play a role in improving the quality of ITS,” explained this professor of Chemistry.

Hamzah disclosed several indications of violations that can be reported through this system—starting from the involvement of lecturers/staff/students in prohibited activities such as radicalism and terrorism, certain crimes such as fraud, theft, or acts of violence.

In addition, he continued, the reporter can also report indications of document falsification, value engineering, diploma falsification, corruption and gratuities, violations of the law, to academic fraud such as plagiarism. “Complaints will be followed up immediately if they fulfill five elements, namely what action, where, when the violation occurred, who was involved, and how the act was carried out,” explained the bespectacled man.

Hamzah continued, ITS will also guarantee the confidentiality of the reporter’s identity. To further maintain confidentiality, the reporter can choose not to fill in personal data such as the name or relationship with the perpetrator and other information that allows people to track. “For this reason, it is hoped that the reporter will not tell the registration number of his report to others,” said Hamzah reminded.

The system, which has been planned since mid-2021, was developed in-house by involving the ITS Directorate of Technology and Information System Development (DPTSI), the Public Communication Unit (UKP), and the ITS General Bureau and Bureaucratic Reform (BURB). To submit a complaint, the reporter can access the WBS through the address https://www.its.ac.id/ppid/whistle-blowing-system/.

This system was also welcomed with pride by ITS Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng. In his closing speech, the Chancellor, often called Ashari, invited the entire ITS academic community to participate in guarding service and integrity in the campus environment. “Let’s carry out our duties as well as possible and honestly for the common good,” he said.
