ITS Campus, ITS News – Entering the digital era, academics are increasingly trying to improve the quality of their students to increase competitive human resources (HR). Regarding this, the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November (ITS), together with Sakon Nakhon Rajabat University (SNRU), Thailand, renewed cooperation in the field of research collaboration which was ratified through the virtual signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Wednesday (19/1).
Every academic institution strives to improve the quality of education to create graduates who have more value and are ready to compete in the workforce. Entering this digital era, education and research are developing rapidly. The challenge that will be faced is information technology. The advancement of intelligence will become a fierce weapon to fight the challenges that exist and survive in technological advances.
For this reason, ITS has again signed a collaboration with SNRU to develop existing research and continue the partnership that has been established previously. In signing the MoU, ITS Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng started by giving a virtual speech.
The enthusiasm of the Chancellor, who is familiarly called Ashari, was very high in opening this event. “We (ITS, ed) have productive partners. Therefore, it is time to improve this cooperation,” he said enthusiastically.
In 2020, Ashari said, three ITS students had the opportunity to experience doing internships at SNRU before the pandemic. ITS is also highly committed to preparing students for the competition in the digital era and renewable energy.
This collaboration was signed to consider joint research between SNRU and ITS, exchange of information in scientific knowledge, exchange of students for studies and research, and access to various facilities of each institution. This latest MoU will run for five years.
This agreement determined that Dr. Dra Melania Suweni Muntini MT as the representative of ITS and Prof. Dr. Tosawat Seetawan as the representative of SNRU. At the beginning of the speech, Ashari also thanked Melania as the Deputy Head of the ITS Center for Sustainable Energy Research for the research and publications that have been provided.
Meanwhile, the President of SNRU, Prof. Chakrit Chanchitpreecha, said that the previously carried out cooperation had progressed significantly. “I believe that cooperation can bring about the birth of a new one,” he said optimistically.
