ITS Campus, ITS News – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November (ITS), as one of the best State Universities (PTN) in Indonesia, continues to increase collaboration with various parties. On Thursday (20/1), ITS held an online meeting with the Ambassador (Ambassador) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Abdul Aziz Ahmad MA, and a delegation from King Fadh University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) Saudi Arabia to discuss opportunities collaboration that can be done together.

ITS Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng warmly welcomed the meeting. Dr. Sadiq Sait Mohammed was also present as Director of Industry Collaboration of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) Saudi Arabia with his staff. The Chancellor, often called Ashari, explained ITS Science Technopark and ITS achievements.

From the presentation, Dr. Abdul Aziz Ahmad MA said that ITS and KFUPM are universities that can create great collaborations in science and technology. “It is hoped that the cooperation opportunities that can be built between ITS and KFUPM can run well,” he explained.

Meanwhile, the Senior Manager of ITS Global Engagement or the Senior Manager of ITS Global Partnership Astria Nur Irfansyah ST MEng explained ITS research fields. There are similarities in the lot of research between ITS and KFUPM. The similarity lies in the materials, renewable energy, and nanotechnology research center. “This collaboration can be carried out in the field of technology using various disciplines,” he explained.

After the brief presentation from ITS, Dr. Sadiq Sait Mohammed responded that the collaboration between ITS and KFUPM could be started by focusing on the latest research ideas. In addition, it is carried out by applying appropriate scientific disciplines so that the cooperation carried out is right on target. “We believe that with the right collaboration, it has the potential to be continued in the future,” he said.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Abdul Aziz Ahmad hoped that ITS and KFUPM would soon be established. He ensured that this would be supported by following up on the next meeting directly. The government and industry will fully support this cooperation. “This cooperation will not only benefit both parties but the government and industry will also enjoy the results of this cooperation,” he concluded.
