ITS Campus, ITS News – Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the public can only get information about Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) through the website and social media only. To introduce its excellence directly, ITS showed itself in the Indonesia International Education Training Expo & Conference (IIETE 2022) exhibition at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Jakarta for three days, starting Wednesday (3/2).
Head of the ITS Public Communication Unit (UKP), Dr. Rahmatsyam Lakoro SSn MT, said that in the exhibition organized by the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), ITS brought several innovations and superior research results. These include innovations in the fields of robotics, maritime affairs, automotive, and advanced materials. “We want people to know more about the excellence of ITS in this field,” he said.
Furthermore, the man who is often called Ramok said that one of ITS innovations is ImmersITS. It is an ITS flagship product developed from research to create virtual classes during the pandemic. Moreover, ITS also displays humanoid robots that have won various world-scale competitions. “In the exhibition, we brought a robot made by the ITS Ichiro team,” added the lecturer of the ITS Visual Communication Design (DKV) Department.
Aside from showing superior products, Ramok revealed that ITS also prepared several profile videos, printed brochures, demonstrated several prototypes, and distributed souvenirs to visitors. It is done to provide a lot of information to visitors. “We have prepared everything carefully so that the information is conveyed properly and clearly,” he said.
During this exhibition, Ramok explained that ITS always prioritizes interaction with visitors by following the applicable health protocols. Visitors who were dominated by high school (SMA) students and their parents were invited to take a closer look at the ITS campus through the exhibition materials that had been prepared. “We also provide information to visitors who want to continue their studies at ITS to help make choices,” he said.
The man who was born in Ampana considers that IIETE 2022 is a good forum. Because this exhibition can provide space for ITS to meet with the public and prospective students directly. With this, they can also see the contribution and role of ITS as a university that improves the quality of Human Resources (HR) in the fields of science, technology, and art in order to advance humanity according to ITS’ current motto, Advancing Humanity.
Ramok thinks that the exhibition is an insightful place to frame a miniature of campus life with detailed information. Through exhibitions, a university or institute has the opportunity to show off against each other. “Therefore, we always prepare exhibitions properly and thoroughly even though the situation is very dynamic due to the pandemic,” said the alumnus of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) Doctor of Arts and Design Education.
