On the other hand, it is not uncommon for students to fail to describe their best potential when applying for jobs. To overcome this problem, a team of students from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) also pioneered Drafta-Indonesia, a startup engaged in the employment and self-development sector.
CEO of Drafta Indonesia, Syifa Alina Amri, revealed that the initial idea of establishing a startup titled A Student-Centric Digital Ecosystem emerged when observing how students profiled themselves on Linkedin platform. “There are students who have a lot of experience, but their profiling is not taken care of so that their potential is not captured properly” She said.

Officially launched in August 2021, the Drafta Indonesia team has five founders. Besides Syifa Alina Amri as CEO, there is also M Akmal Rishwanda as Chief Research & Development Officer (CRDO), Hanif Mitsal Mahatta as Chief Product Officer (CPO), Faiza Hifzuddin Kurniawan as Chief Business Officer (CBO), and Valerina Roosgenia as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).
The team is a collaboration of the Information Systems Department, Informatics Engineering Department, Mechanical Engineering Department, and ITS Physics Engineering Department then validates the Wider market. The trick is to enter this business idea into various competitions.
An example is the Pitching Competition held by the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association for Higher Education (HIPMI PT) Surabaya, which made Drafta Indonesia the third winner, also received grant funding. Not only that, but Drafta Indonesia also managed to become the Top 30 Startups in the ESGNOW Asia Indonesia Startup Champs 2021 and received various funding including from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbudristek).
From the input of the judges and business practitioners whom they met in the various competitions, Syifa and her team found out that companies often experience problems in the recruitment process. “For companies, recruiting students for internships is like buying a cat in a sack,” said the 2020 student.
Therefore, Drafta Indonesia is here to collaborate with both sides by becoming a digital ecosystem for students, as well as being a smart recruitment platform for companies. Adhering to the principle of passion > action > data match, Drafta Indonesia’s technology will enable the processing of student data into talent matching companies.
Not only that, but students can also collaborate to develop their skills. Through their product in the form of a project management platform for students, Drafta Indonesia will record a recap of student activities and then match the abilities and experiences of students with the job positions required by the company.
That Startup is also top-20 finalists in the XIV National Student Show in Technology, Information, and Communication (Gemastik) is currently in the prototyping phase as well as researching to activate its market. The service they have provided is Drafta CView, where students are given space to consult about careers with expert practitioners from various well-known companies.
Syifa admitted that for now, her team is responding to the challenge of realizing technology as well as a complete dataset to realize the intelligent recommendation system that is in their vision. “Therefore, this time, we take a step back, what can we do? So we made CView support students be more ready to enter the world of work,” she admits.
To face these challenges,She devised a strategy with her team to gain as much knowledge as possible, including by embracing alumni and experts in their fields. “We try to take the knowledge, after that we will certainly use the knowledge to realize the dreams and visions of Drafta Indonesia,” explained Syifa.
When asked about his hopes for the future, this coffee lover firmly hopes that he can realize the vision his team has written and dreamed of. Namely to create an ecosystem of students to support their careers, as well as reduce the unemployment rate for undergraduates. “And of course also to make a real contribution to the Indonesian employment sector,” he said hopefully.
