Campus ITS, ITS News – Registration for the Computer-Based Writing Examination (UTBK) which is a requirement to take part in the 2022 State University Entrance Joint Selection (SBMPTN) is still open until Friday (15/4). As one of the UTBK centers, the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) provides several plus points that are advantageous for out-of-town participants who take the exam at this Hero Campus.

The Head of Sub-Directorate of Admissions at the ITS Education Directorate, Dr. Eng Unggul Wasiwitono ST MEng, explained that the first advantage for those who came from outside the city was the location of ITS which was easily accessible from airports, stations, and toll roads. “ITS location is close to everywhere, only 20 minutes from the Tambaksumur Toll Gate,” said Unggul.

Located in the Sukolilo District, which is in the eastern part of Surabaya City, ITS distance from Juanda Airport is only about 16 kilometers. Using a car and public transportation, participants can get to ITS from the airport in just half an hour. As for participants who will go by train, they can get off at Gubeng Station and take about 12 minutes to get to the ITS campus.

Unggul continued, another advantage that participants get is the location of the ITS test which is centered on the Sukolilo campus. According to the Mechanical Engineering Department lecturer, this centralized test location will provide certainty for participants. “If participants choose ITS as the central location for UTBK, they will carry out their exams in the ITS Sukolilo environment,” he said.

In addition to the advantages of a strategic geographical location, Unggul also ensures that 41 test rooms spread across various departments and buildings on the ITS campus have met the standards set by the Higher Education Entrance Test Institute (LTMPT). Not only test equipment facilities to adequate connections, but ITS will of course also implement health protocols by LTMPT’s appeal in each exam room.

Considering the advantages offered, Unggul invites high school students who live in Surabaya and its surroundings to choose ITS as the location for the UTBK implementation later. He also appealed to prospective participants to prepare themselves as well as possible, both from the material they studied to the exam requirements file. “Not to forget, participants must also maintain and comply with health protocols,” he concluded.
