ITS Campus ITS News – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) continues to expand its network by collaborating with various parties. This time, to strengthen the synergy in contributing to society, ITS signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Universitas Islam Malang (Unisma), Friday (20/5).
Located in the ITS Rectorate Building, this MoU was signed directly by ITS Chancellor Prof Dr. Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng IPU AEng and Unisma Chancellor Prof Dr. H Maskuri MSi. Accompanying the signing of the MoU included ITS Vice-Chancellor I for Academic and Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Ir Adi Soeprijanto MT, Deputy Chancellor I for Academic Affairs and Unisma Cooperation Prof. Drs H Junaidi MPd PhD, as well as several other leadership, ranks from the two.
In his remarks, the Chancellor of Unisma expressed his interest in the presentation given by the ITS Chancellor regarding the innovation strategy towards global competitiveness some time ago. As one of the leading universities in the field of technology, ITS has given birth to many innovations that help development in Indonesia. “Therefore, Unisma wants to collaborate with ITS so that it can realize the innovations of our students,” he said.
In response to this, the ITS Chancellor, who is often called Ashari, enthusiastically welcomed the collaboration. He said, currently ITS is focusing on downstream various innovations from both students and lecturers. “The existence of existing science technoparks supports this as well as proof of the seriousness of ITS to be able to give birth to entrepreneurs and we are ready to work with Unisma,” he said.
Furthermore, Ashari revealed the many innovations that have been born by ITS, one of which is in the health sector such as the Raisa robot and ITS Oxygen Concentrator (Oxits). Not only that, but the results of ITS innovation in designing skull implants have also helped the medical world. “Through this, we want to spread our wings by opening a new study program, namely Medicine and Medical Technology,” he said.
With Unisma’s background as one of the best private universities (PTS) in Indonesia which has a leading field of medicine, this professor of Electrical Engineering hopes that ITS can synergize with Unisma. In addition, ITS and Unisma will also work together in the field of Merdeka Learning Merdeka Campus (MBKM). “So hopefully there can be a collaboration between lecturers, students, and institutions,” he concluded.
