ITS Campus, ITS News – The Industrial Age 4.0 demands an ever-increasing development of innovation, but not a few industry players find it difficult to meet the needs of practical and economical three-dimensional (3D) printers. Responding to this challenge, students from Insitut Teknologi Sepuluh Nompeber (ITS) created the Tridiku Argonaut, a 3D printer capable of meeting high-speed printing needs from hobbies to industries.
Tridiku Manager, Taufiq Ramadhan said, Tridiku Argonaut as a 3D printer is expected to support various needs in the creative and technical industries. Starting from the printing of soft drink and perfume packaging, jewelry, craft arts, to automotive products. “Tridiku also targets that this product can support the learning process in educational institutions,” added the man who is familiarly called Rama.
Carrying out the concept of “Everyone can make anything”, Tridiku Argonaut has several advantages. Through proven components, the machine is capable of printing objects for 500 hours without maintenance. In addition, the work of the four ITS students is able to print products from various materials. Such as PLA, Nylon, PETG, and even PP with a print success rate of up to 100 percent.
Together with other colleagues from the Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, Aprilio Mori Syamra, Delta Kuncahyo Afif, and Rafi Fadhlurrohman, currently Rama has proven Tridiku’s existence and won various awards. Including funding for the Technology-Based Startup Prospective Company Program (CPPBT) held by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek).
Under the support of ITS Incubator and Innovative Business Services (ILBI), Tridiku, which targets users from beginners to advanced, has produced three printers. One machine is ready to be launched into the market and the other two are in the beta release stage and the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) respectively.
With the 3D printer rental system currently implemented, it is hoped that Tridiku can reach more and more companies in the printing sector. Starting their research since 2020, the Tridiku Team has also attended many product exhibitions, such as the most recent at the Malang Investment Tourism and Trade (IVRA) Expo 2022, last May.
Committed to continuously improving quality, Tridiku also conducts regular checks on printers that are marketed to consumers. “Hopefully with the presence of Tridiku Argonaut, the 3D printing process will no longer be something that is difficult for the general public to reach,” he concluded optimistically.
