ITS Campus, ITS News – In honor of its 62nd anniversary, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) is hosting TENNOVEX 2022, a technology innovation exhibition, at the Atrium Grand City Surabaya. ITS displayed 62 technological innovations created by its academic community during the six-day show, which began on Tuesday (8/11).
The technology presented comes from the innovation clusters of health, maritime and energy, automotive, information and communication technology & robotics, creative design, and agri-food. The exhibition was opened directly by Deputy Governor of East Java (East Java Deputy Governor) Emil Elestianto Dardak with ITS Chancellor Prof Dr Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng IPU AEng and Mayor of Surabaya Eri Cahyadi.
This exhibition was held to promote the ITS academic community’s innovative works that impact people’s lives. “These innovative works are the embodiment of technological solutions to the problems and needs of society,” said the Chairman of the TENNOVEX 2022 Committee Dr Eng Kriyo Sambodho ST MEng.
In his opening remarks, Emil revealed that he fully supports all the ITS’ technological developments. Emil hopes that these ITS innovations will bring change to Surabaya–and a better Indonesia. “Happy 62nd birthday, ITS,” Emil said, “and may you continue to benefit society.”
On the same occasion, the Mayor of Surabaya also expressed his pride for ITS. “Technology must be popular in the community and technology made by ITS always answers problems in society,” said Eri, an ITS alumnus.
Meanwhile, the Chancellor of ITS, who is familiarly called Ashari, said that these ITS innovation products were ready to be mass-produced to answer problems in society. These products include the BANGKITS e-Trail, an electric trail motorbike used in the mountainous area of Puncak Jaya Wijaya, Papua. There are also red and white DIGITS tablets, which are educational tablets used for Indonesia’s underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions. Not to mention the GESITS electric motorbike and the i-Car autonomous car, a smart car without a driver that has served routes within the ITS campus and other routes.
The latest innovation made by ITS is the ITS multipurpose electric car with a tough and energy-efficient pickup concept, MevITS. In addition, the Cobi (Commuter Bike) was also exhibited, which is a folding bicycle designed to meet the mobility needs of commuters. The Cobi is easy to fold and can be used as a seat when riding the train.
Finally, Ashari hopes that ITS will continue to produce technological works that will benefit humanity in the future. “We hope to continue to hold even bigger technology exhibitions to introduce the public to innovations created by the nation’s children,” the ITS Electrical Engineering Professor concluded.
