ITS Campus News – National Student Competition on Information and Communication Technology XV (Gemastik XV) 2022 officially ends on Thursday (24/11). It was proudly announced that Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has again successfully maintained the title of General Champion with the most gold medals won.

The Coordinator of Gemastik Clinic ITS (CiGITS), Irzal Ahmad Sabilla, S.Kom., M.Kom., explained that ITS managed to win eight medals from the five competition divisions they participated in. In details, ITS teams won three gold medals, one silver medal, and four bronze medals from the total of 24 teams that competed in the final round.

The NTS team from Software Development (PPL) division contributed one of the gold medals. This team created KIAD innovation (Accessibility Information Collection for Persons with Disabilities), an application to facilitate the activities of persons with disabilities.

The Naraya Team also contributed another gold medal from ICT Scientific Writing (KTI) division. This team developed an integrated virtual assistant technology based on artificial intelligence and Augmented Reality (AR) to prevent the risk of complications from Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) in patients with kidney disease. At the same time, the third gold medal was contributed by the Fiture Team from Smart City division.

Meanwhile, the silver medal was contributed by the Outliers Team from Smart Cities division. Besides, the bronze medals were won by the Reveluv Team from UI/UX division, the Wijaya Rupa Team from Animation division, the Pholeos Team from Smart City division, and the Sapu Jagat Team from KTI ICT division.

Not only winning medals in the main category, but ITS contingents also won the first prize from Software Development (PPL) division by the RED Team. As a result, ITS once again brought home Samakbya Padhesa Widya trophy as the General Champion in this year Gemastik XV. “A proud result, of course, and we are very grateful,” Irzal said.

He also said that the success made by ITS Gemastik XV contingents came from ITS contingent’s collaborative synergy. In his explanation, this ITS Information Technology Department lecturer expressed his deep gratitude to all parties who involved in the competition. A maximum support from ITS bureaucracy, the Guard Team’s synergy, and spirit of the finalists formed a complete collaboration for bringing ITS contingents to the title of the General Champion.

Furthermore, Irzal said that the evaluation should emphasize to the development of Gemastik Clinic ITS (CiGITS) organization in the next year. For Irzal, this refinement will lead to find more and new talents, especially in the ICT field. He emphasized that the focus on collaboration will remain to the main point of giving birth more ITS true champions.

Responding to the team that has not succeeded in contributing medals, Irzal still appreciates their efforts to make ITS proud. Irzal advised the champions not to get complacent and continue to innovate, especially in the field of ICT. “We try to make good synergy and collaboration with all parties,” he concluded. (ITS PR)
