ITS Campus News – Going forward to Indonesia Emas in 2045 is not only colored with enthusiasm and optimism, but also the reality of national challenges that arise with various dimensions. Echoing this, Professor Council (DP) of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) is re-presenting Professor Summit 2022 by raising a good image and strategic ideas through the innovative work of professors in Indonesia.
This innovative seminar will be held for the next two days, starting on Friday (21/10), at ITS Research Center Building. The annual Professor Council (DP) ITS activity was attended by 95 professors (professors) from all over Indonesia and three professional institutions that have collaboration with the Professor Council of PTN Legal Entities (MDGB PTN-BH), the Forum of Indonesian Professor Councils (FDGBI), and the Association of Indonesian Professors(API).
Seeing Indonesia’s vision and also ITS vision which is Advancing Humanity, the theme of Professor Summit this time is The Strategic Idea of Developing a Righteous and Prosperous Indonesian Society 2045. This theme is a response to the problems that often arise in society when looking at Indonesia’s goals towards 100 years of Indonesian independence.
The Head of ITS Professor Council, Dr. Ir. Imam Robandi, M.T. revealed that this organization is an integral part of The Academic Senate which was assigned to help provide a sustainable impact in the external world, with regard to academic support and science and technology innovation. “Later on, these professors will not only write journals and research with international indexes, but also help answer various challenges in Indonesia,” he explained.
Furthermore, Imam said that professors would be used as innovation pioneers and the DP’s work was targeted to be used as a reference for other professors and students to always work in the world of education. Not only that, it is expected that all the questions that have been compiled in Indonesia Emas 2045 target can be answered through various innovations and the work of professors at this meeting.
In line with Imam, The Chairman of MDGB PTN-BH, Prof. Dr. Ir. Purwanto, DEA, welcomed the fourth Professor Summit 2022 activity positively. The professor from Diponegoro University (Undip) told how the innovation of thinkers is the key to solving problems that occur in society, especially ITS itself. Regarding to the question of Indonesia’s target, solutive ideas and smart work must be continuously encouraged to get enlightenment in the community.
As a result, all timelines and dimensions of Indonesia’s HR development can continue to develop and influence human quality that is superior and linear with science and technology developments that are adapted to the six pillars of Indonesia Emas 2045. “These issues are expected to help thinkers of the nation so that they are included in books, writings or seminars,” he said.
Besides, Professor Summit 2022 is also one of the series activities towards ITS Anniversary which consists of six national seminars, including Seminar on Strengthening National Resilience and Governance, Sustainable Economic Development, Equitable Development, Strengthening Energy Security, Future Energy Engineering, as well as Human Development and Mastery of Science and Technology.
With these various seminar that have been adapted to the six pillars of Indonesia, they were attended by a number of important guests and presenters from various leading educational institutions in Indonesia. Therefore, by having this activity, all professors can provide direction and help each other and become more advanced, especially in the ASEAN region.(ITS PR)
