ITS Campus News – In order to socialize government infrastructure programs and strengthen collaboration with the government, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) and The Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs of The Republic of Indonesia (Kemenko Ekon) held Ekon Goes to Campus. With a comprehensive discussion about infrastructure and economy, this event was held at ITS Research Center Building on Thursday (27/10).
In this very special occasion, The Coordinator Ministry of Economic Affairs of The Republic of Indonesia (Kemenko Ekon RI), Dr. (HC). Ir. Airlangga Hartarto, M.BA., M.MT., IPU., also presented to give a virtual opening remarks. In his remarks, Airlangga said that Indonesia was in the momentum of world leadership by leading The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and hosting The Group of Twenty (G20). Therefore, students are expected to be able to provide solutions and actions to solve world problems.
Airlangga believes that youth with all their potential can play an active role in making economic policies in a healthy and educated manner. This is evidenced by the active escort of policy practices carried out by students in order to create prosperity and progress of civilization. “The government hopes that students can study well until they complete their studies and can play a further role,” said Airlangga.
In line with The Coordinator Ministry of Economic Affairs, The Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs ITS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Adi Soeprijanto, M.T., revealed that students are part of the country’s solution. “We are grateful that this event has helped open horizons and increase student literacy in knowing the progress of major projects in Indonesia,” said the Professor of Electrical Engineering ITS.
As one of the speakers, The Deputy for Coordination of Regional Development and Spatial Planning of The Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs, Dr. Ir. Wahyu Utomo, discussed about Infrastructure Transformation towards Indonesia Emas 2045. Wahyu explained that infrastructure in Indonesia must be inclusively supported by 200 multi-sector projects and 12 planned strategic projects. “The infrastructure that we are building is long-term in nature with the expectation that it will continue to be perceived until the next 2045,” said Wahyu.
At this event, The Vice Governor of The East Java Provincial, Dr. H. Emil Elestianto Dardak, B.Bus., M.Sc., also presented as one of the speakers. Discussing about infrastructure in East Java, Emil explained a various infrastructure developments that have been completed or are currently being done in this East Java region.
At the end, the event was closed with the presentation on Infrastructure Progress for Young Generation Encouraging Infrastructure Changes by The Head of Transportation Subdivision Committee for Acceleration of Priority Infrastructure Provision (KPPIP) Kemenko Ekon, Muhammad Luqmanul Hakim, M.Sc. This ITS graduate said that younger generation plays an important role in inspiring the development of infrastructure in Indonesia in order to get out from developing countries category in 2045.
Organized by KPPIP Kemenko Ekon, this event was attended by hundreds of students from 11 universities in Surabaya. During this event, the book of Indonesia Emas 2045: Infrastruktur untuk Ekonomi yang Berkeunggulan, Berkeadilan, dan Berkelanjutan was also launced. At that moment, the book of Indonesia Emas 2045 and its charter were handed over to he Vice Governor of The East Java Provincial and The Vice Rector I ITS. (ITS PR)
