Pasuruan, ITS News — Technology development collaboration between Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) and industry and the government continues. This time, ITS is collaborating with PT Panasonic Gobel Life Solution Manufacturing and the Pasuruan City Government (Pemkot) in producing LED lamps which were officially launched and marketed, Friday (20/1).

Through his remarks, ITS Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng IPU AEng said, the launch of the Proudly Made in Indonesia (BBI) LED Bulb product is the result of triple helix collaboration between universities, industry and the government. Namely through the Indonesian Sovereignty program in Creative Engineering (Kedaireka) from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek).

“Of course this is due to the extraordinary hard work between ITS academics, the Pasuruan City Government, and PT Panasonic Gobel Life Solution Manufacturing,” he said during the launch ceremony at the PT Panasonic Gobel Life Solution Manufacturing factory in Pasuruan.

Furthermore, the ITS Electrical Engineering Professor who is familiarly called Ashari said, the launch of the BBI LED Bulb lamp product was an extraordinary leap to meet the demand for lamps in Indonesia. With calculations, every household needs at least five lamps, it can be calculated that the need for lamps in Indonesia is very large.

Through this collaboration, the production capacity of lamps has been increased from the original 50 million pieces per year to 100 million units per year. So it is hoped that the need for light bulbs in Indonesia will be met, and even exports can also be carried out. Not only that, continued Ashari, this cooperation is also part of a series to increase the level of domestic components (TKDN) for the electronics industry in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Director of PT Panasonic Gobel Life Solution Manufacturing Widyastama Nugraha explained, the BBI LED Bulb lamp has a multi voltage between 140 – 240 VAC. There are 14 models with seven voltage variants, including 3 Watts, 5 Watts, 7 Watts, 9 Watts, 11 Watts, 13 Watts and 15 Watts. “That way, this lamp is suitable for stable and unstable voltage conditions,” he said.

Another advantage, according to Widyastama, is that the lamp can last up to 12 thousand hours longer. To accommodate user comfort, this lamp is equipped with anti-blue light technology to protect the eyes. In addition, there is anti-flicker technology so that it can produce comfortable lighting, increase productivity, and save energy. “So in addition to better performance, this lamp also prioritizes user comfort,” he said.

Apart from launching the product, the Chancellor of ITS and his staff also made a factory visit to directly review the manufacture of this BBI LED Bulb lamp. It is hoped that this collaboration will provide benefits to many parties. “Kedaireka and TKDN are able to help ease the burden on the state and improve people’s welfare,” he concluded.
