Surabaya, ITS News – The Rector of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Prof. Dr. Ir. Mochamad Ashari MEng IPU AEng, receives the Honoring OzAlum Rectors Award from Australian Embassy in Indonesia. This award is a form of appreciation from the Australian Government to the Rector of ITS as one of the alumni of an Australian school who has made a big contribution to the progress of Indonesia.
The award was given at the 70 Years of Australian Scholarships Gala Dinner in Vasa Hotel Surabaya, last Saturday (3/6). The award given to the number one person in ITS itself is kind of appreciation from Australian Embassy in Indonesia for his achievements as one of its alumni.
The Rector is considered to have succeeded in becoming the leader of Heroic Campus who has made many achievements at the international stage and has also succeeded in establishing good relationship to strengthen cooperation between Indonesia and Australia.

The Rector who was pursuing his master to doctoral studies in Curtin University Australia said that he is very proud. According to him, this achievement is not solely the result of his performance. However, it is the result of the hard work and contribution of all ITS academicians.
“I express my gratitude, especially to ITS Directorate of Global Engagement (DKG) which has helped realizing cooperation programs with Australia”, he said gratefully.
Furthermore, The Rector explained that this was not the first time he had received an award from Australian Embassy. In previous years, the professor of ITS Electrical Engineering has also received the Alumni Innovation Award, in which ITS innovative products have also become the parameters of the assessment.

The bespectacled man reiterated that this achievement was proof of appreciation and recognition of the community for ITS capacity. Besides, he expects that international-scale awards like this can be received more and more by ITS academicians.
“Never get tired of continuing contribution and making ITS name proud in the world”, The Rector said encouragingly.
Not only the award for Rector of ITS at the commemoration of the 70 Years of Australian Scholarships, but also several awards to other alumni who have made a big contribution to Indonesia. One of them is an award for the Former Deputy Minister of Public Works of the Republic of Indonesia, the late Ir. Hermanto Dardak MSc PhD, who is also the father of the Deputy Governor of East Java, Dr. Emil Elestianto Dardak BBus MSc. (ITS Public Relation)
