Kampus ITS, ITS News – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) made another achievement by winning the Main Performance Indicator (IKU) 1 Excellence Award for Legal Entity State Universities (PTN-BH), Friday (21/7). This repeated a similar victory in the 2021/2022 PTN-BH League.
The award that was awarded by the Directorate General of Research and Technology Higher Education (Ditjen Diktiristek) proves that ITS has succeeded in producing graduates who are the fastest to get decent jobs, become entrepreneurs, and continue their studies.
According to the Decree of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology number 3/M/2021, KPI is the primary performance measure or indicator for universities in realizing universities that are adaptive and with more concrete-based outcomes. IKU also aims for each tertiary institution to increase direct benefits for the community and support them to achieve international higher education standards.
The Director of Student Affairs (Ditmawa) ITS, Dr. Imam Abadi ST MT explained that to date, as many as 88.8% of ITS alumni class of 2021 have met the IKU assessment requirements. The requirement is to have a monthly income 1.2 times greater than the Regional Minimum Wage (UMR).
“As many as 78% of graduates continue to work, 6% choose entrepreneurship, and 4.8% choose to continue their studies,” he explained.
Imam continued that ITS graduates have spread across various sectors. Among other things, national and multinational industries, national private industries, and regional industries to becoming civil servants. “Industry is still the most dominating sector. However, it is not impossible that we can expand prospects beyond this,” he added.
Furthermore, the Lecturer in the Department of Engineering Physics revealed that the award received by ITS was a solid first step to continue increasing student success. For him, this is an opportunity for ITS to design various new programs that can maximize student abilities, interests, and talents.
ITS, through Ditmawa, has supported student development with various programs. These include the Career Development Program, talent scouting scholarships, career fairs, and other activities.
Not only supporting academics, but the program launched by Ditmawa also helps equip students with professional certificates and relationships with various partner companies. “So that the companies can immediately recognize their potential,” added Imam.
In his remarks, Director of the Directorate General of Higher Education Prof. Ir Nizam MSc DIC PhD IPU ASEAN Eng said that with an increase in all tertiary KPIs in 2022, he wants an even distribution of higher education productivity to be realized, as measured by 8 KPIs.
“In addition, I hope that each tertiary institution can immediately prepare an endowment fund to maintain their respective welfare,” he concluded. (ITS Public Relation)
