ITS Campus, ITS News – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) continues to strive to realize its vision and aspirations to become an entrepreneurial university or entrepreneurial campus. One proof of this seriousness is reflected in the direct inauguration of the ITS Independent Entrepreneurial Program (WMK) by ITS Chancellor Prof Dr. Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng IPU AEng in the ITS Research Center Building Auditorium, Monday (14/8).
Initiated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), this program aims to prepare superior human resources (HR) in the field of entrepreneurship. In this program, participants or young innovators will take part in various programs ranging from business briefing, outbound, and business mentoring, to business incubation. Not only that, the curriculum in this program has also been specifically designed starting from the pre-immersion, immersion, to post-immersion stages.
In his remarks, Ashari revealed that this activity is a form of ITS dedication and young innovators to realize the goals of the nation’s welfare through entrepreneurship. For him, the balance between education and entrepreneurship that is promoted through this program will open a bright door for the future of Indonesia and young innovators. “This opportunity is a ladder that will bring all of you to be more successful and develop in the future,” said Ashari.
Furthermore, the Chief Executive of WMK ITS Eka Dian Savitri SHum MA explained that this program was attended by 300 participants from 11 registrant tertiary institutions. The theme taken for this event itself is titled Its Launchpad which means ITS is the best place to study for prospective young entrepreneurs. The slogan Accelerate Your Journey, Ignite Your Success was also created by WMK ITS as a strengthening commitment to prepare a golden generation of Indonesian entrepreneurs.
Eka also explained, ITS WMK lectures will start from August 14 to December 1, 2023. The lessons learned consist of lectures in class with lecturers and practitioners, coaching with fieldwork companion lecturers, as well as fieldwork mentorship-based learning with business owners. “At the end of the day there will also be an exhibition of the best products and participants who will be allowed to pitch with investors,” he added.
In opening this program, young entrepreneurs who have been successful in their fields were also invited to give public lectures for young innovators. The topic of the first lecture entitled Why Entrepreneurial Matters was delivered by the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dusdukduk, Muhammad Arif Susanto. While the second topic was entitled Gap Opportunity in Market which was presented by Trainer and Consultant of PT New Creative Resources, Alfina Wijanarno ST PMP. (ITS Public Relation)
