ITS Campus, ITS News – The Anargya Team from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) launched its newest formula car in the courtyard at the ITS Rectorate Building, Friday (18/8). At the Grand Launching EV Mark 3.0, ITS flagship electric formula car team confirmed its determination to win the championship title at the Formula Society Automotive Engineer (FSAE) Japan 2023 event.
Representing the Rector of ITS, The Vice Rector ITS I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof Dr Ir Adi Soeprijanto MT, said that the Anargya Team had fulfilled every technical aspect required to win the title. Prof Adi only left one message to the team that will compete in Sakura Country, to remain calm in the face of unpredictable emergencies. “If this ability is implemented well, I am sure that the Anargya team will be able to bring the highest achievements for ITS and Indonesia,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Director of ITS Student Affairs, Dr Imam Abadi ST MT, in his speech appreciated the performance of the ITS automotive team which was founded in 2018. Imam looks forward to the Anargya Team which will be able to achieve the best results in the contest attended by 80 teams from various countries including China, Japan, and Taiwan. “In terms of competency, we are confident that we can reach the highest podium, hopefully everything will run optimally and optimally,” he said optimistically.
FSAE Japan itself is an annual event which will be held on 28 August – 2 September at Ecopa Park, Shizuoka, Japan. In this international event, the team guided by Alief Wikarta ST MScEng PhD took part in all competitions, both static events and dynamic events. The static events consist of a business plan, design presentation, cost and manufacturing, structural equivalent sheet to electrical system form. Meanwhile, the dynamic events compete in efficiency, endurance, skidpad, and autocross.
Regarding the team’s preparations, General Manager of ITS Anargya Team, Rafif Herdian Noor, revealed that the third generation emission-free car from the Anargya Team had been prepared since one year ago. Rafif explained that EV Mark 3.0 is a development of EV Mark 2.0 which was launched in 2021 and EV Mark 1.0 in 2019. “One of the newest components added is the diffuser as an aerodynamic device to make the car more stable,” he said.
Besides, innovation has also been made to the electric vehicle’s battery, such as the use of air conditioning that is supplied through the sidepod. Moreover, the battery capacity has also been increased from the previous 6 kilowatt-hours to 7.46 kilowatt-hours. Furthermore, this 2020 Industrial Mechanical Engineering student also added that in assembling this car, the level of Domestic Components (TKDN) used also increased, especially in assembling the main components.
Rafif looks forward to this competition that the car that will be driven by Dhaifan Wira Laksono from Electrical Engineering Department can bring home the championship title from FSAE Japan 2023. Ten days before the competition, ITS Anargya Team will carry out testing and running to evaluate the performance and make perfect the performance of the car as priority. “Our target is to produce the best performance and regain the highest position,” he concluded.
