Indonesian Minister of Transportation Dr (HC) Ir Budi Karya Sumadi visited the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), on Saturday (7/10). This working visit is to develop transportation transformation.
Deputy Chancellor IV for Research, Innovation, Cooperation and ITS Alumni, Bambang Pramujati ST MSc Eng PhD expressed his thanks to the Ministry of Transportation for its appreciation of the innovations that have been produced by ITS.
“It is truly encouraging to see ITS’ superior innovations recognized directly by the Minister of Transportation,” said the man who is familiarly called BP.
To strengthen substantial changes in the transportation transformation sector, closer cooperation between ITS and the Ministry of Transportation is a very important step. One of them is the success of eleven ITS students in obtaining scholarships at Erasmus University Rotterdam which is clear evidence of the synergy that has existed between ITS and the Ministry of Transportation.
“The Ministry of Transportation has played a crucial role in helping various ITS students to achieve invaluable international educational opportunities,” said this lecturer at the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
The Indonesian Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, revealed that ITS is a very progressive institution in creating various technological innovations. Seeing this prospect, the collaboration targeted by both parties is a golden opportunity to maximize its role in providing benefits in the context of relations.
“This is realized in a shared vision of creating an optimal transportation system,” explained Budi.
Through collaboration in achieving this vision of one-stop transportation, the two institutions will design a comprehensive series of programs involving education, research, community service, as well as the development and utilization of human resources. “Hopefully, this agreement can be realized shortly,” he said.
However, of the many collaborations that have been initiated, Budi underlined that the most important thing about this technological innovation collaboration is proven by how society can feel the impact of these updates directly.
“By aligning ideas and voices, downstream is the key determinant of this collaboration,” emphasized the man born in 1956.
Closing the event that afternoon, Budi expressed his hopes in front of the ITS innovators who were present. “Hopefully this enthusiastic cooperation target can bring glory, not only to ITS and the Ministry of Transportation, but also to the nation and the homeland,” concluded Budi.
During the visit, a Letter of Intent (LoI) was also signed, which is an agreement between ITS and the Transportation Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM). (ITS Public Relations)
