ITS Campus, ITS News — Still in the series of its 63rd Anniversary and in the spirit of continuing to innovate, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) is holding a technology innovation exhibition entitled TENNOVEX 2023. The exhibition will be held at the Atrium of Grand City Mall Surabaya for three days, starting Thursday (2/11), featuring 60 outlets filled with the work of ITS academics.
Opening TENNOVEX 2023, ITS Chancellor Prof Dr Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng IPU AEng stated that this exhibition was held to show the Indonesian people the real contribution of ITS in the field of innovation technology. For him, this exhibition is also a real symbol that ITS is ready to make a big contribution in contributing its innovations to Indonesia. “Our (ITS, ed.) work here is created to answer all the problems that exist in Indonesia,” he said.
Furthermore, the chancellor, known as Ashari, explained that ITS’s innovative works were successfully realized thanks to collaboration with government and industry. These works include the GESITS electric motorbike in collaboration with PT WIKA Industri Manufaktur (WIMA), the scholarship consultation digital platform entitled Raih Asa with the help of the Student Creativity Program (PKM) belonging to the Higher Education Service Institute (LLDIKTI), and various other collaborative works.
In line with Ashari’s presentation, the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of the City of Surabaya Dr Ikhsan SPsi MM explained that currently, the City of Surabaya needs ITS support such as donations of ITS tablets called DIGITS. According to him, DIGITS can digitize community services and support the number of downloads of applications owned by the Surabaya City Government (Pemkot) such as WargaKu and Sayang Warga. “We plan to distribute DIGITS to RT/RW throughout Surabaya,” he said.
Apart from digital applications, Ikhsan revealed that official operational vehicles in Surabaya were considered less suitable for use, especially motorbikes. Therefore, he hopes that ITS can also help utilize GESITS technology to replace official operational vehicles that are more efficient and environmentally friendly. “The Mayor has advised me to immediately replace the official operational motorbike with a more efficient electric motorbike,” he explained.
The second year of TENNOVEX implementation also gave birth to two new cooperation agreements (PKS) to support the readiness of works created by ITS. Among them is the PKS between ITS the Surabaya Industrial Training Center (BDI) and PT Wiksa Daya Pratama. “This new collaboration shows that ITS is very open to new opportunities,” said Ashari.
With the routine implementation of TENNOVEX every year, Ashari hopes that this exhibition can inspire potential industrial and government partners to make a big contribution to the Indonesian people with ITS. He also hopes that this exhibition can raise the enthusiasm of the Indonesian people to always support products made by the nation’s children. “It’s time for us to be able to create everything ourselves,” he concluded motivatingly.
