ITS Campus, ITS News — The Nogogeni Team from the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) once again made their alma mater proud at the 2023 national Energy Saving Car Contest (KMHE), Thursday (2/11). This time, Nogogeni ITS succeeded in achieving two achievements in the Urban Concept category, namely 1st place in the Electric Motor class and 2nd place in the Ethanol Internal Combustion Motor (MPD) class.
Head of the Creative Media Division of the ITS Nogogeni Team, Jihadul Akbar Fisabilillah, explained that KMHE is an annual competition held by the National Achievement Center (Puspresnas) with a focus on fuel savings. This competition requires participants to make cars that use fuel as efficiently as possible.
The competition, which was held at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC), was divided into two vehicle categories, namely Prototype and Urban Concept. These two categories are further divided into four classes, namely MPD Gasoline, MPD Diesel, MPD Ethanol, and Electric Motorbikes. “The ITS Nogogeni team itself only took part in two classes from the Urban Concept category, namely Electric Motorbikes and MPD Ethanol,” explained the young man who is familiarly called Jihad.
Bringing the Nogogeni VIII Evo car, the achievement of 1st place in the Urban Concept category in the Electric Motorcycle class marks the Nogogeni ITS team’s fifth consecutive victory in this class at the KMHE event. This victory was obtained by the ITS Nogogeni team after the Nogogeni VIII Evo succeeded in achieving a fuel efficiency of 188.69 km/Kwh. This figure was achieved by the Nogogeni VIII Evo on its first attempt out of the five opportunities given.
On the other hand, even though there has been a hiatus for three years from the Urban Concept category for the MPD Ethanol class, this does not mean that the ITS Nogogeni team’s ability to innovate in this class has decreased. The Nogogeni VI car that was competed in this class achieved a fairly high level of efficiency, namely 375.95 km/liter.
With these two results, the ITS Nogoneni team succeeded in locking tickets to take part in the Eco Fun Race. Namely, this is an additional racing event for Urban Concept category vehicles at KMHE, and managed to achieve positions 1 to 4 in their respective classes. “The Nogogeni VI car itself has the opportunity to start from first position,” he added.
Jihad hopes that in the future, the ITS Nogogeni team can maintain its winning streak in the Urban Concept category in the Electric Motorcycle class at this KMHE event. Not only that, he also hopes that in the MPD Ethanol class, the ITS Nogogeni team can achieve an even higher position. “We also hope that the ITS Nogogeni team can continue to be successful, not only at national level competitions but also at international level,” he concluded hopefully.
