ITS Campus, ITS News – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS)‘s dedication to the development of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially in the fields of water, energy, and agriculture is increasing. Due to this dedication, ITS succeeded in becoming the 3rd best university in Indonesia’s SDGs Action Award 2023 at the SDGs Annual Conference 2023 in Jogjakarta, on Monday (6/11).
ITS Chancellor Prof Dr Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng IPU AEng said that this award was the first time for ITS in Indonesia’s SDGs Action Award event. This annual award has been held twice by the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (PPN/Bappenas).
Ashari also expressed his gratitude for the dedication of the ITS academic community and especially the ITS SDGs Study Center which has contributed to carrying out activities regarding the SDGs. These include the installation of Solar Power Generation (PLTS) technology in various village economic centers, as well as community service in the fields of agriculture, water, and energy which succeeded in delivering ITS this award.
Furthermore, the ITS Electrical Engineering alumnus admitted that currently there are still SDGs activities at ITS that have not had time to be properly integrated.
